Well, I have just had it with windows 10. Nothing seems to work.
Will try installing Windows 7 on a virtual machine and try from there.

Have you downloaded the latest RKBatchTool from here:

https://files.theminixforum.com/sha...firmware tool for win10 FactoryTool_v1.33.zip

And the latest Rockchip Driver Assistant from below link:

https://files.theminixforum.com/shared/drivers/Rockchip DriverAssitant_v4.4.rar

Using these you should be able to complete the firmware installation procedure on Windows 10.

Hi All,

I am trying to flash my X5 mini using the rkflashtool on Mac and would appreciate some help!
rkflashtool seems to be able to connect to the x5 as I can see the chip version and I could see the params.

I assumed that the image file x5mini-rk3066-250.img should be written from the start of the flash storage.
I tried the below without any luck. Now, when I boot the x5 mini, there's no signal to the TV via HDMI. I know it was working before I flashed the image!

Please can you help me flash the image properly?

Here is what I did:

$ rkflashtool v
rkflashtool: info: rkflashtool v6.1

The firmware installation process must be done on a Windows PC, not a mac.

Have you downloaded the latest RKBatchTool from here:

https://files.theminixforum.com/shared/tools/Rockchip update firmware tool for win10 FactoryTool_v1.33.zip

And the latest Rockchip Driver Assistant from below link:

Using these you should be able to complete the firmware installation procedure on Windows 10.

Has this worked for anyone? If so, a step by step guide would be much appreciated.

Got it done but only after disabling the driver signature. May need to include that in the instructions.

Any chance of upgrading this unit to Lollipop 5.0+?

Hello, i am new here and i want to ask how do you disable the driver signature?
Also, i want to know how do you install the drivers on windows 10

PS: I have windows 10 pro x64 and minix neo x5 mini 8GB(stucked on booting)

Thank you indvance i am waiting your reply asap, also if a moderator (@midnight) have an idea how to solve my problem!

I used option 2 in this article https://bit.ly/344CDMj to disable the driver signature. This works for Windows 7. Could not upgrade the firmware using Windows 10.

Hi. @gufone. Appreciate much if you could provide the links for the x5 mini Kitkat CE root and unroot files. The ones above are no longer active. Thanks a lot.

All the CE ROM's for rockchip devices are signed with the same certificate. So as @Villa mentioned, you can use the patches that you find in the x7 thread. (The android code base is the same for all devices with the the same CE version).
