NEO X8-H Plus Lollipop firmware update with Burn Card Maker

Big Thank You from me to Alexkyl2018 and the other guys participating in this forum. My Minix X8-H Plus was successfully upgraded to the Lollipop firmware (y). The Burning Tool method via the OTG-PC did not work with my Windows 7 64 bit laptop..
 
Finally I updated successfully. Thx to the people of this forum.
I'd used the method of the burning card and had lots of problems to get the updating bar.
I first pressed and holded the reset button, then plugged the cord and after pressed once the power button. I holded the reset button until my TV lost the Minix signal.
 
Hi guys,

I have spent way too much time trying to connect my minix to the PC with the OTG cable/USB Burning tool. Tried different computers. USB ports. No sign of life.

I then downloaded this and it seems to have created the right files: https://i.ibb.co/cD0760F/image.png

As you may notice, I am intending on installing this version https://theminixforum.com/index.php...x8-h-plus-android-5-1-1-lollipop-rom-1-0.110/ (based on what i have read, seems like its the 'best' version around to update to).

I was just wondering if this is "safe" to do. If you can do it with Burn Card Maker and actually what steps need to be taken so that the minix reads the card, formats, installs, etc eh.

Somehow I couldn't find 100% confirmation online and seeing as i am not that well versed in these things and this version i wanted to install isn't the "official version" that has its own thread on the forum, i just need to be certain that it works with this version as well.

Usb burning tool is the recommended method.

You also can use other alternative method (sd card).
 
Hi. i m new here. But i have managed to upgrade my neo x8h plus to later lollipop. i use the burn card maker. i hope i can help.
1) download the Burn Card Maker into you pc
2) run the burn card maker in your pc
3) insert an SD card into your pc
4) format the SD card
5) download the X8H_PLUS_LoLLIPOP_RC2.rar file (you need to un-rar the file to get 3 files inside where one of it is the .img file)
5a) do not change the file name from .RAR to .IMG,you have to un-rar the file (just like you would un-zip a zip file)
6) copy the .img file into the SD card via the burn card maker
7) remove the SD card from your pc and insert it into your minix (minix power is off)
8) insert a pin to press and hold the recovery button and at the same time turn on the power to minix (just like how you would start your minix)
9) you should be able to see the screen showing upgrading
10) wait and hopefully it will upgrade properly
Mine i did it this way and it was upgraded straight through.

Ahh yeah, I know it's different, I'm just tried with the same method, but I don't have any upgrading as it should. Maybe it's the different in the rom? I want reflash my X8-H to 5.1.

Thank you so much, what I mean is I tried reflash my X8-H with custom rom from here, but I can't, the process with burning tool go to 95% then something happen and the program show critical and then crash.

And I think I can do it with sd card, but no luck too. I'm not sure if the problem because the fw file or my device or my cable. Even when I tried reflash it with default fw: https://theminixforum.com/index.php?threads/neo-x8-x8-h-x8-plus-009fw-20160328-android-kitkat-os.46/, the burning tool still go to 95% and then crash too.
 
updated with Burn Card Maker. There is an Android version 5.1.1. However, I have a problem - there is no ETHERNET connection (by cable) from the previous version I preferred. WiFi connection is available. Update using file X8-H_Plus-Android_5.1-20170612-Burning_Tool.img

Check first if your ethernet connection is working well and your cable. Check also your router.

I end up back to default firmware of X8-H with burn card marker, I can't upgrade it to 5.1 as I hope, maybe I will try find other devices if I want use 5.1 :D. Thank you so much for all your help. Have a greate weekend!
 
Next are the problems with the Ethernet connection. Despite using different firmware versions. the Ethernet connection works and then stops. Finless MINIX X8-H Plus Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) ROM 1.0 works with rj45 wired ethernet has some limitations and it didn't suit me either
