Directional and 'OK' buttons not working on Stock IR Remote in Kodi 18.4

Using Kodi 18.4 a popup message was displayed saying a new controller had been found and would I like to configure it.
I got this popup as a result of trying to use my remote that came with my U1, I am assuming my remate is the A1 as it's the small remote 6 function buttons, 4 directional buttons and an 'OK' button.
When asked if I wanted to configure the new controller (I have no idea why the popup occured never happened before) I selected no.
The result is that the directional and 'OK' buttons no longer work, when pressed noting happens.
How do I relink my A1 remote to my U1 so the directional keys and 'OK' key work?

This is the popup that displays as soon as I press a button on my A1 remote:-

The directional and 'OK' buttons are all working in Kodi 17.6 and on the U1 home page and other Apps

Chose yes to configure new controller (A1 remote)
Managed to mapp directional keys, up, right, down and left, so they now working.
But couldn't see an 'OK' key to map to, anyone know which key I should map the 'OK' key to??
Should I be adding a new controller??

The remote works as it should outside of Kodi, correct? I've never seen this before, but after a bit of reading it looks like a common issue with Kodi 18+.

Have you tried the keymap editor?

Using a mouse, try going to settings/addons/my addons/pheriperals and disable joystick.

Can you map the ok button on the remote to whatever the controller equivillant would be (A or B)?

Yes remote works as it should outside of Kodi.

Remote works as it should in Kodi 17.6.

Only issue is using the remote in Kodi 18.4 (may also be an issue in earlier 18.0-3 not tested so don't know).

I haven't tried the keymap editor yet.

Joystick was enabled so disabled it.

Pressed a button on A1 remote and got popup "New Controller Detected" again.

I can map the OK button on the remote to a controller button, just don't know which is the equivalent of the 'OK' button in the controller. I have tried mapping 'OK' button to a few controller buttons without success.

You can test that with kodi 18.5 (latest version) and see if it works

Typically, the "A" button on a game controller is the equivalent of OK/enter on a standard remote if that helps?

Yes thought the same, waiting for 18.5 update via play store.
It's already there ;)

My stock U9-H still has the Play Store version of Kodi 18.4 at the moment too. At this time the 18.5 update hasn't appeared in the Play Store for me yet either & it's still incorrectly reporting 18.4 as the most recent.

Kodi has developed several problems since it updated to 18.4 on my stock U9-H, I'll probably have to manually update it eventually to sort it out.

Still got the T5 & the new Windows devices on the list to sort out first. Kodi on the U9-H will have to wait for the time being lol ;).
