I have 1 main question . When I go into Developer Options and the 1 thing I change is the prgrams running in Background..
It is set on Standad but what exactly is Standard? I put mine on 3 and or but when I go back in to check it has returned to Standard!! Hw can I get it to stay on what I set it at? Can we upgrade the 9 Pi to 10 pi?? Do we have to send it in ??
paid much money for this and the Minix special remote..

Is there any particular reason why you specifically need to limit the number of background processes or are you making such adjustments out of curiosity?

Are you a developer or do you actually understand the developer options to be tinkering with them? Have you fully considered the ramifications of altering settings you may not necessarily understand?

No, you can't upgrade from Android 9 "Pie" to Android 10. (Obviously, these devices aren't mobile smartphones/tablets & they really don't require constant/repeated Android OS updates to be effective at what they do in general.) Ongoing "firmware" updates are issued OTA to address any bugs/glitches or you can manually flash any firmware version that's currently available yourself using the "USB burning tool", if that should be necessary.

No, you can't send the device back to the manufacturer for an update.

I'm sure most can fully understand & empathise with your frustration that the U22 still has some unaddressed bugs/glitches but firmware updates are still being pushed to correct them. If one of these known bugs is affecting you directly hopefully an update will soon correct it :).

You're a genie in a bottle :giggle:

Second wish... "Get back in the sodding lamp" ;) :p:rolleyes:.

My reason for limiting the background oerations runnng in background is to stop unnecssary things running in backgrund taking valuable resources thus using resources.. From what I understand stopping background programs keep us running smoother.. Many programs that do that from loading programs from being kept on. The more one has off the better we run.
many guys promote these tool. Cache killers, task killers, etc. etc...

OK, so we've established that's a solid no on all counts ;)!!

We've covered much of the same ground before in response to your previous threads/posts, does it really need covering again? If you've simply forgotten it's not a crime, just look back through your forum history/activity to refresh your memory :). Otherwise, in this instance if you feel that these promoted tools will be of use to you then have at it ;).

The Minix has a task killer installed right there on the home page but it does not work. After clicking on it and then I go to the first button on top center which brings up programs running in the back ground still running. They should have turned off with the provided TASK KILLER. No such luck.. Who wants stuff running in background not being used ?? Not a. Soul

It does work. Some tasks are just impossible to kill without crashing the entire system. That, I also wouldn't want. And that is why it is advisable to know which gets killed and which won't, if you intend to find out how useful the feature is for you. It takes time and patience to got app by app in the list finding what and which got closed. I found some, that I really don't wish to keep going, as they can be intrusive and spread adverts and notifications while running in the background, will get killed with the feature while some others such as Chrome for instance, won't. On the other hand some that I wish to keep in the background will get turned off, and I have to remember to reactivate as I push that button.

However, it it an unusual feature to have in an Android device, and the ones that think it is useless can easily also choose another launcher app or not or simply forget about it. For me it is a must to have.
