Auto refresh rate set to “On Start/Stop” the Screen blinks within 3 to 5 seconds into a video and after 3 to 5 seconds at the stop of the video, are these blinks normal? (even though the actual refresh rate change takes places prior to blink and at stop the refrsh rate reverts back to normal then a blink is observed, does not seem normal to me atleast comparing the behavior with other android boxes)

Forgive my ignorance on this subject. Where do you find auto refresh rate on the minix menu? Thank you.

There is also a "delay" setting in kodi , and it may also depend on how quick your TV can swap refresh rates.
What you are seeing is not to unusual.
 
With FW006 the Color Space Setting is again 420 and if i switch to 444 i have black screen and have to reset the box .
With FW004 i had 444 !
Why FW006 not accept 444 color setting ?

Well...Today, I have had several notification sounds on the minix.

Sadly, when I pull down the notification bar, the message is no longer there.
When I go into app notifications " most recent " it shows the notification came from xxxxx and how many minutes ago it arrived.

So, for example, I see a gmail message, I then have to open my gmail to read the message.

Surely paragraph 9 of FW006 is a backward step. What is the point of having app notifications set up on your box, if they are immediately and automatically removed?
Even android phones do not automatically remove them until read.
Or am I missing something?

I really would be grateful if @ minix John or Martin could fix this soonest. Or at least advise me of how to retrieve my messages in a simpler way.

Thanks, I have set the delay to 2.5 seconds as recommended in some of the older kodi versions and also in the spmc guide but the delay setting only delays the blink, i guess i will just stick with coreelec for now as it works perfectly. btw i have lg oled tv and a receiver where box is directly plugged in. (Just o add, issue is not observed in many of my other boxes with the same setup, so i dont think its an issue with tvs ability to handle refresh rate change, i think i will have to play around with minix display settings, currently i have dolby vision disabled, adaptive hdr enabled and hdr preference for hdr instead of dolby vision, box is at 420 instead of 422, i will change some of the settings and see if that makes a difference)

How are you checking the refresh rate on your TV and thats its actually changing ?
I also have an LG OLED and AVR

your settings look good to me. You can try 422 or 444 but , Ive only tries 444 and it didnt stick for me.

I check the refresh rate on the receiver menu, the box immediately changes the refresh rate but that weird blink appears after few seconds for no apparent reason, basically as if some sort of handshake is going on to bring devices in sync. (May be a factory reset is warranted at this stage if no one else experience that blink)

I will try the 444, if i remember last time it limited the box to 30hz at 444, also i just dont like the box sending that pseudo hdr when in dolby vision, it kinda messes up my corelec setup. But i will give it a try. Thanks for your helpful response greatly aperitiate the help.

As far as I remember, it was embedded in the last firmware and was not a switch.

Settings, MINIX Settings, Display, Screen resolution, Fake Hdmi

good evening everyone ... for me fw006 no problem with my sky go app ... !!!!! all streaming apps work perfectly !!!! great job MINIX !!!!!! thanks
 
Bug Report:
1. Problems with Nova Launcher have not been fixed.
2. The issue of scrolling with airmouse in a lot of apps has not been fixed (text is selected instead of scrolling pages up, down, right or left)
 
Just to check the following..have been a Minix user coming from 8-H (rooted) till now U22 (rooted FW 005);

1) can I use the FOTA update to FW006 (non rooted) coming from FW005 rooted?

2) will all my apps removed after update or can I still retain the apps using manual update / erase bootloader method?

3) will this non rooted FW006 fix the startup home screen moving to the left of my TV with shrink size and I had to restart?

4) are you planning to have a rooted FW006 release or is this FW006 already a rooted version using the root switch?

1) No. You will need to manually install FW006

2) You can try!
Before you do that, I suggest making a TWRP backup.

4) I believe the Root switch is all you need.
 
After update my stream app(MaxTvToGo) detect root.Again!

Can i return on 005 firmware?
I cant wait again 3-4month for next ver. To solve this root shoot.
 
After upgrading from FW003A to FW006, the sound on the usb dac ES9280c pro stopped working. Neutron player detects dac, playback is in progress, but there is no sound from the speakers. Any other applications do not play sound either. On 003A there was no such problem at all. DAC even worked on usb type C port.
