Minix NEO A2 Remote Paired with Minix Android Hub Direct (w/ no dongle)

My question is, is this possible? I moved, and in doing so lost one of my hubs, and one of my remotes. Subsequently, I now have a remote, and a hub, but the hub doesn't have the dongle in it as it wasn't the one I used it with.

Being that both are Minix branded, is the dongle necessary? I'd think that pairing directly between the two, sans dongle, would be possible?

No

The remote uses RF and is paired to the dongle, not the box. (The remote is not like a Bluetooth device which can be paired to the box.)

If you have another dongle for a different A2/A3 remote you may be able to pair the remote to the new dongle.

Alternatively, depending on what hub you have, you can download an app to your phone which can be used to control the box (for android anyway, not sure about iphones)
