Thanks for confirming compatibility.

To add to the list if it helps :).

I've been running a 16GB (2 x 8GB) Crucial RAM kit in my N42C-4 for the past 9 months. Works perfectly :).

Specifics.

Crucial CT2KIT102464BF160B 16GB kit SODIMM, DDR3L, 1600 MT/s, PC3L - 12800.

Hello friends.
I want to upgrade the internal storage of my minix N42C-4.
I know that Kingston SSD M.2 2280 SM2280S3G2 of 240GB is compatible with this device.
I trust in kingston brand and i want to buy Kingston SM2280S3G2 of 240GB but it is unvailable in a shop near my home.

Does anyone know if SSD M.2 2280 Kingston A400 240GB TLC is compatible with the device?

btw i added modules tested by users on first page ;)
Sorry i am new with this device. Are you talking about this page thread one?
I searched in this forum and i found only :
"These SSDs are tested and confirmed to be compatible with NEO N42C-4.
Slot in NEO N42C-4: 1 x 2280 M.2 ...." by Minix-Martin

Or are you talking about other link(page)?

Yes, the first post ;)
I only added modules tested by user. It's easier to find a module.
Unfortunately, no idea for your SSD :(

Yes . First post and not thread :). I guess i will have to wait for the Kingston SSD M.2 2280 SM2280S3G2 of 240GB to be available or buy another one. Thank you

I use the SM2280S3G2 240GB in mine, works great :).

I know you're in Portugal which doesn't have its own Amazon warehousing but it's in stock on Amazon Spain, should be free shipping too :). Any good?

I never ordered anything on the internet (just that with physical stores and where i can pick my order), i prefer like this.
I will wait or i will buy another but thank you .

Added this model in first post :giggle:

It was already on the list ;). I was just clarifying that it's a good SSD as it's the one notrui2 is looking to purchase ;).

LOL, there isn't much I don't order online these days :).

It's often considerably cheaper than shops. Amazon (for example) has next day or rapid delivery, & if there's a problem you can have it immediately returned for refund within days too. I realise Portugal has its limitations with Amazon, however.

Whatever works for you though ;)!!

First time you try it you get addicted.

Amazon, eBay, I use all (posters, electronics, collectibles, you name it). And in Portugal you even have MB Way to generate electronic cards and protect your real bank card data, I use it always, I even tend to forget my PayPal account, except for eBay.

Just avoid purchasing outside the EU as some items will be subject to import taxes and get stuck at customs until sorted out, and then the final price will be higher than expected.

Only problem I can think of at Amazon is not having next day delivery, but the moment you are filling the form they tell you how long it takes. I bought a smart phone there a few months ago and it only took longer because one of the items in the package was, and I knew it, from an outside supplier. As expected it arrived within the agreed dates. Normally it takes only very few days, no big drama. :)

Hello friends.
I can confirm this works:
SSD M.2 2280 Kingston A400 240GB TLC
RAM SO-DIMM G.SKILL Ripjaws 8GB DDR3L 1600mhz CL9

I had to remove the original 4GB RAM in order to work the 8GB RAM, i dont why it does not work with the two RAMS installed.
I dont know if the RAMS must be installed with equal size (and even with the same brand) in order to work

Different sized RAM modules & modules from different manufacturers are often incompatible with each other ;).

8GB is plenty as well. I have 16GB & the system rarely uses more than 40% :).

Hello friends.
Does anyone know if will be possible and SAFE (not causing future issues) to install different RAM sizes , like for example one of 4GB and another 8GB even with different brands ?
I am thinking with a BIOS UPDATE for example.

I had tested with 4GB + 8GB RAM and the OS dont boot, so i removed the 4GB (original ) and i use only the 8GB.

Yes but you have to test them deeply.
Use this app : https://www.memtest86.com/ ;)
What i understand from memtest and i used before a long long time ago is if a Certain RAM is good or not.
I am talking about compatibilty between them.

I know the ideal is to use two modules of memory exactly the same, like for example :
Crucial CT2KIT102464BF160B 16GB kit SODIMM, DDR3L, 1600 MT/s, PC3L - 12800

Yes but sometimes you can mix different sort of ram capacity. It's the case in half my PCs :)
