Watched Video Checkmark

Hello
I am not sure if this is the right forum for this but I have a problem that has erupted over few months now and getting frustrating. I have a U1 and stock XBMC 16.3. Earlier when I had done watching a video, it would place a tick mark after it indicating that it has been viewd, a very useful feature especially when you are watching seasons and episodes.

But I suddenly seem to have lost this feature. Can anyone help?
Thanks

You may have any issue with xbmc.
Do this:
If you have a minix 16.3 apk backup reinstall again xbmc (fresh install).
If you dont have i advice you to install kodi 18.3 stable , it works very well and with watched (checkmark) videos.

You have other option of clean xbmc app cache, data but you must do a backup first.
Check also your xbmc settings

Dont forget to do a backup.

Not much more is known nowadays comparing to the thread you started last November.

This problem has occurred with several Kodi versions along time, and most advising seems to point the direction of a skin defect, to which is advisable to remove any second party skin, install a default one, and try it from there. But since there is not a straight answer to the issue, all the good advice you just got from @notrui2, as the steps discussed in November by several members, which you can recall at the above link, are well worth following.

@Parambir you can try in stock xbmc minix edition that you have with Confluence skin go to video open the folder with episodes and on the left side of the screen is the menu and go to misc option hide watched and untick blue circle to gray.

That function, when active, actually removes the watched media from the lists so they no longer show as a selectable option.

Of course the only problem with a fresh install is that you lose all your previously watched marks anyway.
and reinstalling from a backup may just introduce the same issues you had previously

difficult to find a win-win situation.....in the end probably best to do a fresh install ( suggest kodi 18.2 for now ) and start again afresh.
I use trakt to keep watched status up to date..... not an issue then if you need to do a fresh start or new install.

I use a kodi NAS server (SQL) but i also have a trakt addon account as a backup.
If you have a trakt account is just syncronize with kodi.
Trakt keeps watched episodes also as other things, it is very useful.

Thank you guys for all the suggestions... I removed the xbmc and did a fresh install. But alas... there is no tick mark appearing.
There is another issue which has cropped up. I use an addon called BSPlayer addon for subtitles. I have selected it as default subtitles for TV shows and Movies. The same addon was being used by earlier too. When I launched any movie, this addon used to automatically launch (if no local subtitles were found) and I was able to select the suitable subtitle. But now it is not launching automatically. Any help on that in addition to the checkmark issue. Its getting frustrating to remember which episode of a season I last watched.

I have tried Kodi 18.3 but there is an issue. You see all my videos are on my cloud drive (WD MY Cloud) connected to my home router. It uses uPnP to connect. It is easier to map this drive on xbmc as a source. Kodi is not so friendly with mapping a uPnp protocol device.

Yes I have tried all the options given in this post. I even removed the DB file for movies and let xbmc create a new one for me but nothing has helped.

You may have a problem with your network. Restart all devices, router also.
You are connected via wifi or ethernet?

you shouldnt have any trouble in connecting to a WD My Cloud ( I have a WD My Cloud Home and it works fine).

Assign your MyCloud a "static" IP via your Routers DHCP reservation and then in Kodi file manager go to Add Source
Select Browse and scroll down to Add Network Location
Use the Windows network (SMB) option
In Server Name input the IP address of your MyCloud
( enter Username and Password if you have any set - I dont)
and then press OK

This will then add your My Cloud as an available source to be used for creating your video library.

If you do a fresh install in kodi all videos are unwatched by default and checkmarks will be lost.
I suggest using trakt add on to sync all your data.

You can do this :
1-Sync first kodi with trakt add on
2-you can remove kodi and do a fresh install or install a newer version
3-Then with the new kodi version installed is just using trakt again

How / where are the settings to set automatic launch ?

I have enabled both BS Player and OpenSubtitles and can set one or other as default but how did you set to automatic launch as i cant find that setting ?

Opensubtitles generally seems to find may more as well.

Will try this. Thanks
