NEO U22-XJ: 004FW IPTV reboot issue

I am not sure if this is the correct place to post this. But, for some unknown reason, my u22 has shut down and rebooted twice in the last hour whilst watching an Iptv programme. It makes a buzzing vibrating noise and then close down and reboots.
Any advice or help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

You are not alone, FW V004 has brought on some kind of new bug that affects the video output, I notice it more with apps that utilise AFR like Perfect Player. Could you just confirm it actually reboots, ie you see the initial Minix Bootloader logo and then the flashing Minix splash screen, this is random for me, sometimes it is just signal loss and other times a complete reboot.

It reboots into the minix yellow logo and then/ U22 starting up and into my home screen.

Just another question unrelated...Should screen resolution Auto switch, be on or off?

Thanks Marty.

Thank you. Any remedy for the shutting down and rebooting? Interestingly enough, for the first time since FW004 the "Google.com" error that we discussed some time ago, came up after the box was on today.
Then a few hours later I got the shut down/reboot issue.

Now it happens after only a few minutes of rebooting. Slightly worrying, is the noise of brrrrrrrr, before shut down, a bit like running a stick along a railed fence. But obviously not so loud.

Just an update. I can watch apps/apks...BBC iplayer etc with no issues. But as soon as I turn on my paid Iptv, it crashes within 15 minutes again.
@minixjohn....any ideas please.

Ive been using Smarters IPTV and not had this issue, maybe try a different iPTV app ?

I too have been using Smarters along with XCIPTV apps. Smarters seems to decode better between the two.

Could this be a heat problem?

I make a point of keeping my STB set above and between two different larger boxes, so it gets plenty of air.

Thank you. But this is a paid service I have been with for a few years. It only started acting up today after nearly 14 weeks of owning the u22. The u9h has no issues with the iptv.
But thank you anyway. Will take a look at smarters.

Thank you for the thought.
Although I live in a very hot climate, I always have the mini fan under the box turned on. Same for my router.
So, I am not sure why this suddenly happened today after 14 weeks of ownership and only on my iptv app. All other apps work without issue.

Perhaps reinstalling that app or looking for an older version?

A paid or unpaid IPTV service would make no difference wrt the app.
You have misunderstood my point. This a service that I have paid for in advance and is rather expensive. So rather than pay out for another IPTV, I was hoping that Minix might have a solution.
And as @Marty pointed out, I am not alone with this issue.

Fortunately, since my last post, this particular Iptv service has two versions of the App. I have switched to V2 and the problem has gone away.
But thank you for trying to help me.

I think you may have misunderstood my point
An IPTV service and an IPTV app are two separate things.
Whilst many IPTV service providers may provide their own custom app, in general you can often simply use another IPTV app and simply enter into it your iptv providers sign in credentials .

Anyway, seems you are sorted now by using an updated app from your IPTV provider so all is good.:)

Im not so sure @Marty was reporting he has an issue with an IPTV app, maybe, but i think it is more an issue with the app itself rather than a firmware bug, we will see

Many thanks. But, too be honest, I have no idea how you can use another iptv app and enter your details of another iptv provider.

Sadly the updated V2 app from my provider has been withdrawn this morning?, due to instability.

So, I will plug in the u9h until minix sort out the AFR.

a quick google search on how to set up IPTV Smarters may be a good idea for you ;)
Thank you. Done that!
But, decided to go back to the u9h ....running now on normal iptv app with absolutely no issues.

Will plug the u22 back in when iptv provider relaunched V2 upgrade next week.
Then wait out for Minix to release a new FW before trying V1 of my iptv app.
Thank you for all your help.
