[Unofficial] - 6.0.1 Marshmallow ROM for the U1

Hi, is there a version with Android TV for Minix U1? I searched this thread back and forth and last update was in 2019.

Thanks for the ROM, it's good because it's Android 6, unfortunately I only have a small problem with image fluidity on YouTube, and video problems with an app (and on the Brave browser...) of the Italian TV channel Mediaset play (ok..., it's a horrible app on every device where you can put it, but with Android 5 videos don't have many problems ?).
I don't see the option for the apps "move to SD card" , and I don't really like the "sleep" state when turning off the box.
Otherwise, it's a good job, but for the reasons I wrote, I went back to the original firmware.
It's a shame the Minix policy of not updating the box to Android 6... ?

It's got nothing to do with policy or decision making at MINIX as to why the U1 wasn't "officially" upgraded to 6.0.1. The matter ultimately comes down to whether the SoC manufacturer issues an updated SDK or not.

(In this instance, that policy rests with Amlogic.)
 
@mooosejaw, thanks for sharing this and keeping the thread going.

i'm having issues with sound output. my box is connected to tv via hdmi. the tv then outputs audio to my receiver via rca. sounds worked fine before i flashed this firmware. i also have a roku plugged into the tv, and the sound works just fine.

what should the sounds setting be set on? auto, pcm, hdmi (current selection), spdif?

i've rebooted and no change.
 
@MooseJaw no luck going via hdmi to tv, and enabling tv speakers again. I left set to auto which claims is spdif pass through on the minix. Tried hdmi as well. And yes the sound is turned up on tv and minix
 
Hi, I have just flashed my u1 today and I have unfortunately IU system has stopped message. When I push Ok message come again and again.
I enter in recovery and do a wipe data and a factory resest from the system. This have not worked...

Somebody knows a solution?

I tried to install 64bit Kodi 19.4, no joy, message 'x App not installed'.
Installed Kodi 19.4 32bit, installed okay. But whenever I run it, immediately crashes with message in screenshot below, every time I start it.
Any ideas what I could try?

I guess this box and ROM are too old to get support/suggestions now :eek:

Have you tried Kodi 18.x?
