CoreELEC - MINIX U9-H

I don't have this option for audio: ALSA: AML-AUGESOUND, HDMI Multi Ch PCM
It's just ALSA: AML-AUGESOUND, HDMI.
There is a problem even without sound. There is probably some problem with the video encoding that the S912 cannot play.
We are trying to figure out what can be wrong on a Hungarian forum.
If I convert the video using Handbrake, no problem!

There is a problem with the file on the left.
The same file on the right is transcoded using Handbrake.

Everything is fine on the S905. Here the S912 will be at fault.
Isn’t it illegal for me to share a short snippet of video that shows me the problem?

The Passthrough output device is grey! I can't change it!
Maybe I can send you the source I have a problem with?
Is your device a Minix Neo U9-H?
Shoot , apologies >> those screenshots were from the U22 and not the U9-H, sorry about that.:(

I dont have Corelec on my U9, only on the U22 and T5

I hope one of the other guys with AVR and U9 using Corelec may be able to help on the audio side

As the U9 works fine with all HD audio/ AFR etc no real reason to use Corelec in my book !

I repeat, it is not the sound that matters, but the video codecs! Specifically, under Minix Coreelec, it is unable to play certain videos with hardware acceleration. I was looking for a solution to this, but then it does not exist! During some videos, you need to turn off h264 acceleration and solve playback with raw CPU power!

Hi, can we install CoreELEC 19.2 (Kodi 19) to Minix U9-H ? Can't find this device on the tree directory.

Thanks

19.2 hasn't got an official release yet. CoreELEC has a 19.2 release candidate listed as an update but you'll probably have to install 19.1 first to access it.

hello,

I'm trying to install CoreELEC on my Minix U9-H, but i'm stuck to get the file "gxm_q200_2g_minix_neo_u9.dts"
on this link I can see it, but open as txt "https://github.com/LibreELEC/device-trees-amlogic/blob/master/gxm_q200_2g_minix_neo_u9.dts"

Can someone share the file: "gxm_q200_2g_minix_neo_u9.dts"

If you've followed the instructions in the first few posts of this thread then you already have the file you need on the bootable media (Micro SD or USB flash) you created using Rufus. (You don't need to source it again separately ;).)

Look on the SD card/USB stick you created & navigate into the directory named device trees & you'll see the file you need.

If you're using the creator tool option, then simply unzip the CoreELEC .tar you already have & the same applies. Navigate to the device trees directory & you'll see the relevant file.

Read through the first 5 or 6 posts of this thread again if you're unsure. Everything you need to know is there :).

When I install the image using Rufus e saw there several trees.
I've seen minin U22 but no minix u9-h.
That's why I try to get the dts file for my mknix u9-h

this is because you have the wrong version of coreelec.
since coreelec 19, there is no more support for the u9.
(Our all amglogic s912 boxes)
Only older versions of coreelec (with kodi 18) Will work on the u9

Hello again.

I've read that is possible to flash directly on Minix memory.
I'm making this try with CoreELEC, mainly because of performance. My U9 is a bit slow and I believe with CoreELEC will run like Nvidea Shield TV ;-)

My big question..... is it possible to roll back the box to original state?
This means having the original Marshmallow Android.

Yes you can flash original Minix firmware over CoreElec installation

There is very little difference in performance between Coreelec install on a good sd card and memory
