How Do You Root, Unroot, & Make System Modifications?

You can try this way :

  1. Download TWRP (link) and SuperSU (link).
  2. Copy them to micro SD card (root level without any folder).
  3. Power off your U9-H, insert the micro SD card.
  4. Press and hold the recovery button inside the small hole on the bottom of the U9-H.
  5. Power on it while holding the recovery button. Hold the Recovery button until the TWRP logo shows.
  6. Allow write access in TWRP (it automatically pops up).
  7. Using a mouse (or A3 remote) to select “Install”.
  8. You may have to change storage to external_sd using the “Select Storage” button.
  9. Select SuperSU-v2.78_20160905010000_mod.zip and install.
  10. After installed, just reboot your U9-H.
  11. That’s it.
8.You may have to change storage to external_sd using the “Select Storage” button
Does this mean the ext sd card on the minix or micro sd card?

The download link isn't working :(

Is there anywhere else I can get these files?

Thanks, it wasn't working for me the last couple of days, something about forbidding parallel downloads.

Downloaded and will try tonight.

Update: The instructions above seems to say you put a recovery.img and SuperSu....zip file on the root directory of the microSD, that doesn't seem to work for me. Do I have to write the contents of the recovery image file to the microSD card using the Burn_card_marker program? That doesn't seem to work either.

I can't get TWRP to install or run from the microSD card. (32GB card that Linux says is in HPFS/NTFS/exFAT format, with a 13207552 Apr 28 2017 08:59:38 recovery.img file in the root directory)

On powerup with the reset button held in, the TV goes solid green screen, solid black screen (TV may be blacking out because of lack of interesting signal) then: a screen with pink, green, and blue vertical stripe background with 'dead' Android robot, lying on its back, belly door open with red triangle and exclamation mark Below that it says: 'No command' below

The main text of the screen is:
Code:
Android Recovery
Android/q200/q200
6.0.1/MHC19J/20180209
user/release-keys
User volume up/down and power.
--------------
  Reboot system now
  Reboot to bootloader
  Apply update from EXT
  Apply update from cache
  Apply update from ADB
  Wipe data/factory reset
  Wipe cache partition
  Mount /system
  View recovery logs
  Power off
-----------------

Supported API: 3

Recovery is listening adb sideload...
Waiting adb sideload command...
E:Cannot load volume /misc!

I think that the system is not seeing or using the recovery, img file in the sdcard. It has the same behavior when trying a recovery (reset button power on) with no sdcard. This seems to be a 6.0.1 recovery? From Marshmellow?

Anyone know what is going wrong?

Can anyone confirm whether the nougat 7.1.2 firmware is rootable using this TWRP or is it limited to the marshmallow of U9-h. If not, what options are there for rooting the CF001 firmware android 7.1.2 ?

Everything went fine, rooted my old minix U9 and settled with webkey as remote conntrol software, mainly because its free and it has a kiosk mode. My only issue is a I cannot rotate the screen on my phone (samsung S21) and the screen is sooo tiny I can barely navigate the spotify...
