Neo N42C-4 not seeing ssd

I recently purchased this machine and have added more ram and a Samsung ssd as well. The ssd was on the minix list as approved to use on this machine. I initially booted computer up after adding the ram and ssd and setup windows. I then did a reboot opened the bios and disabled the mmc on the south cluster chipset hit f4 save and exit. On reboot minix does not see the new Samsung ssd? Tried to do the steps several times but not seeing the device at all? Any ideas would be helpful.

OK, it was confirmed by removing the SSD and plugging it directly into another Windows computer via patch cable that the drive is “dead”. Not an issue with the Minix. A nice workmate of mine has been performing the work, he verified that she is dead. Will order a new drive and give it another go!

I have the same issue that the SSD not showing up in my PC yesterday, and I followed this solution finally to get jobs done. You can give it a try.

Well the problem with my Neo was that the ssd that I initially installed was bad. The ssd had a very small surface component that was somehow damaged in manufacturing or ? I purchased a Samsung 256 gig unit and this time my Neo saw it on boot up. Emmc was disabled in bios and Windows 10 reload was performed successfully. I had initially installed a Samsung 128 gig ssd and an additional 8 gigs of ram when i first powered up the Neo after my purchasing all from Amazon. I will be using the Neo to run a cnc motion controller for a machine tool that I will be using in my home shop. All good again and a really nice compact unit.
