Hi All,

I have Neo N42C-4 device.
I turn on Wake on Lan feature in BIOS and network adapter options.
My device connected to the router through WiFi.
I can wake up my Neo by network from Sleep mode, but I cannot do it when it is turn off (but plug in to 220V).
Is it normally?

Thanks in advance.

Hello.
It is normal.
You can wake your device from sleep/shutdown mode.
You must use static ip in your N42C-4 and not dhcp.
You must know also mac wifi adress of N42C-4 if you use wifi (for setup static ip).
Even if you dont use wol i advice you to use static ip.

Do that change if you can in the router and not in N42C-4.

I think the problem you have is because N42C-4 ip adress changes and then you cant wake up the device.

Hi,
I have set permanent IP address on my NEO N42C-4. But WoL function still does not work when I switch the nettop to the Shutdown mode.
It seems to me it will work right only when is used RJ-45 connector (Ethernet adapter) to connect the network instead WiFi connection.
Moreover I don't have "Shutdown Wake-On-Lan" option in my network WiFi adapter settings.
Can anybody help me to correct this issue?
Thanks.

I only use wifi sometimes in that device, i use ethernet and it works well in sleep/shutdown with wol activated.
Your static ip must be for wifi.
I never tested what you do in wifi mode.

It is strange because the process is the same (wifi/rj45)

I can wake my device from a browser, mobile etc.
Install a mobile android app and see if you can.

Check your network settings (router, etc)

The process is the same but i dont know if it works, it works like you also tested with rj45.

notrui2, thanks for your answer.

Actually I need to receive the confirmation about the right work from the users who successfully uses WoL from Shutdown mode through WiFi adapter.

I found a solution for one computer at home. I wanted to manage a WoW (Wake on Wan) and had many problem with it and my router.
Then i used Universal remote : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Relmtech.Remote
A small server is installed in computer side and an app in phone side.
I can now wake up my PC from my smartphone using a 4G connection, thru my router :)

Perhaps you can try it. It's a very powerfull app.

The N42C-4 does not support WOL(Wake on Lan) feature via Wi-Fi.
Does it mean that our MINIX cannot be woke up from Sleep mode by WOL function? Or it is right for Shutdown mode only?
Could you please provide more detailed comments and reason of that, because I see that MINIX WiFi adapter supports WoWLAN mode.

Wake on lan - Works only via ethernet (cable) and you can wake the device from shutdown/sleep mode.
If don´t work you need to do these:

-Enable Wake-on-LAN in your operating system. Open the Start menu and type “Device Manager”. Open the Device Manager and expand the “Network Adapters” section. Right click on your network card and go to Properties, then click on the Advanced tab.

-click the Power Management tab, and make sure the “Allow this device to wake the computer”.

Wake on lan via wifi is not supported in the N42C-4 as said before.

Make sure you enable WOL in the BIOS.

Dear notrui2,
Thanks for your answer.

I have desided this issue by following way:
At my flat I use Deco M5 WiFi Mesh system which consists of two access points.
When I turn of and than turn on the WiFi connection switch in the mobile Deco M5 application on my iPhone, the MINIX reconnects and wakes up from Sleep mode. It is the result what I need.
Thanks to All.
