16GB memory options?

Hi, looking to add more memory to my J50C-4 from 2x4GB.
Looks like the max supported memory is 16GB, however there are two slots, and we seem to have 16G modules supported.

What is the best recommendation - 1x16GB or 2x8GB?
i.e, this -
M471A2K43CB1-CRC,16GB,1.2V,2Gx64,CL17,DDR4-2400 17-17-17,260Pin SODIMM,Height=30mm,ASS,LF,SAMSUNG
or this -
Crucial 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR4 2400 MT/S (PC4-19200) SR x8 SODIMM 260-Pin Memory - CT2K8G4SFS824A

Further, is 2x16GB a future supported option?

many thanks!

I should add - I'm looking for the best memory option, it's not something I know much about.
There are other options available on the market than just 2400MT/s - such as 2666MT/s and 3200MT/s.
Are this going to be incompatible? Or are they just untested - I'd volunteer to try and report back if so

thanks for all the responses ;)
I took the plunge anyway, as the 8GB was not enough the applications I need -
Crucial CT16G4SFD8266 16 GB (DDR4, 2666 MT/s, PC4-21300, Dual Rank x8, SODIMM, 260-Pin)
seems to be working.

You're a pioneer on the J50C-4, thanks for posting your results (y)

Hi .
What i understand is that you are using 1X16GB and it works.

If you test with another RAM module let us know if it works (2X16GB).

Thank you for sharing this results. :)(y)

well, I actually put in the original Minix4GB-2400, AND the 1x16GB-2666- I have 20GB. it runs at 2400, i think that is expected.
I will test the 1x16GB on its own, when I have chance.

I ran a full memory scan, no errors. seems pretty quick, but I doubt I really know how to test it properly.
it can keep up with the crazy memory usage of chrome now. (+zoom and docker concurrently)
If you've a test you'd like me to run, I can oblige
