A3 Remote Eats Batteries

Another small problem on my remote is that unless I have new fresh batteries It wont turn on my unit.
I have to get right up close to it. I sit about 15 feet away from my set.
When can we xpect some kind of UPDATE!!???
There are no updates for the minix remotes.

You probably have a faulty remote.
Please contact your seller.

You have also this email from minix support:

A bit late to the party, but I didn't use my A3 for a while, until yesterday to update the box firmware, and my batteries were dead too.
I checked my A2 Lite, which I use even less, and the batteries are fine.
So from my experience, I'd be inclined to concur with the original hypothesis that for some reason, the A3 eats batteries.

I just bought some rechargeable AA batteries at IKEA. They were cheap. I haven't tried them yet.

Bought an A3 remote a few weeks ago and so far, I've had to change the batteries almost every 10 days. Got Kirkland batteries.

Don't understand all these battery issues. My remote came with the u22. It has been used very seldom, but even after 19 months it is still working with the same non rechargeable Panasonic batteries.

Reading through all the posts, I wonder if some of the issues relate to purchasing the A3 separately from China subsidiaries. Not casting any aspersions....just wondering if they are genuine Minix, or a faulty batch.
I have had 2 x A3 remotes...one came with the u9h and as I said the other with the u22. Both still functioning.
