About Windows Update

Try to stop WU service : type services.msc and select Windows update service > STOP
Remove C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder
Start WU service
Restart updates
Thanks for your information.
Already tried but with no luck. Same Error.
Do you think if it's worth to try to restore with this forum's download (Windows 11 Pro 22H2) over my current one (Windows 11 Pro 23H2)?

See if anything here helps!
Thanks for your reference.
In fact, I've ever tried some of the general ways by Googling: start/stop WU, sfc, dism, manual download but no luck.

As I've bought this machine not too long, not many softwares have been installed. Want to see if anyone has also faced same situation.
Or if it can help by restoring with the image provided by this forum?

I have the same issue: I have got two Minix Neo Z100 PCs. Both are new, nothing else installed, neither will install KB5035853. I get the same error message as Horace Ng.
Before anyone suggest searching for solutions: I have tried all the suggestions for this error like stopping Windows update and clearing the update cache, scandisk, dism, manual downloading and installation, but that doesn't change anything.
Wondered if Horace Ng was able to resolve the issue or if you have any suggestions?

As I've not installed many softwares, I've used Windows' Reset option to solve. Up until now, I suspect root cause would be: The installation of some options in "Hong Kong Traditional Chinese" in Setting's Language section.

Let the device install the needed updates, leave the internet working and do what you need (work, etc).

After you install the windows updates restart the PC.
After restart, shutdown the pc (if you don't need it ).

I never install schedule updates, i only install Windows updates when am i using the pc (and normally all works fine).

If for some reason some update failed, first please install primary updates and after that optional updates.

Note:
I only use english language

Some patches are just not suitable for this device or withdrawn by Microsoft for some reasons, don't worry too much about that.

I don't think it's an issue of our device.

If you missed this one, you can still do it next month, relax...

Hello, i confirm, i can not install any windows cumulative update : KB5034123 (January), KB5034204 (February), ... KB5036893 (April)
Alway fails with 0x80073701. Tried all tricks found on the Internet. I need support from Minix team, as now my PC is no more secure. Thanks.

Finally, i have updated from the Windows ISO image, selecting the option "Keep personal files and apps". Now my Windows version is 22631.3447 (KB5036893)
For me I solved this by resetting Windows completely on my Minix PC's. Once you do all updates install without any issues.

Bit disappointed by the support from Minix. Suggesting the updates may have been retracted, without checking, are not helpful. Windows update will just keep going through the same loop of trying to update and failing.

Posting video's which offer 'solutions' both Horace Ng and me specifically said we tried already is worse, makes me wonder if you even bothered to read the posts at all before 'helping'.

The hardware is great, it would have been nice if support matched that experience.

Confirming here, I had to do a full reinstall of Windows 11 to solve this issue. The problem with just leaving it is some windows processes keep churning trying to process it, taking unused system resources, sometimes to 100%, therefore making a hot Z100 and using energy. There must be something in the pre-installed W11 that causes this problem.
