First, allow me to compliment you on your well-run, simple to use, handy forum. 
I was doing some research on the Nvidia Shield forum and unfortunately, it has degraded into a hot mess! Searches are not working, threads are hard to find …… and so forth. Very different from your forum. When a brand has a good forum it speaks volumes about the product itself.
I am almost ready to pull the trigger on a Neo T5 and have a couple of questions before I take the plunge. I am retired in Mexico, in a medium-sized coastal city with a climate similar to Honolulu. During the summer, which is 70% of the year, it is like a sauna here. We love that, but our electronic equipment doesn't. I lost my beloved 2017 Nvidia Shield after 17 months, due to chronic overheating. I have just bought a Thermaltake Notebook Cooling Pad which would be large enough to lie both the Neo and my Seagate 4TB USB HDD on it for effective, active cooling. My preliminary tests on my HDD show that it remains cool to the touch, even when running very heavy 4K movie files.
Do you think this will be enough? Have you had any experience with Minix Android boxes in hot, humid (we live right on the ocean) environments?
My second question is concerning my Seagate 4TB HDD. I like to download the biggest, most feature-rich, file versions I can find. The files can be up to 100 gigs each. Will the Minix be able to run these heavies in 4K without stuttering?
