Is it recommended to use the latest version, or the version provided by Minix (which presumably is tested)?

Looks like some random bogus site to me!!!

Burning tool file from MINIX is only 8MB, that file is 25MB.

I advice you to use MINIX recommended usb burning tool which is tested and working well:

Yes. I also done that (searched the web for a new version) a while ago...

What i found:
I think they were SPAMS (untrusted) sites and SPAMS files.

I also noticed the file size.
I think i also tested and if i remember well were older versions but modified.

exactly, 2.2.0 works fine, no obvious need or reason to change
