Apps that don't allow "casting"

What do you expect any one to do?
Explain how or why the Minix screen rotation support is broken? Fix the broken screen rotation support? Fix the fact that apps can tell they aren't running in a device with a screen? Fix the fact that apps can tell when there's an HDMI cable plugged in?

Shall I ask Xfinity about that? Did everyone else ask the app creators about Minix broken screen rotation support?

Am I mistaken in thinking that apps should just work in this box? If so, which apps should I not expect to work? How can I tell which apps I should expect to work, and which ones I shouldn't? Is there a list somewhere? If an app works everywhere else but in this box, should I expect that nobody will try to fix that problem, or that I'll be directed to the app developer for support?

I just tried the app on the Nvidia Shield and get the exact same issue. No way to login!
Then the NVIDIA Shield is broken too. Doesn't sound like something you should be worried about. Maybe if you fix this problem in the Minix, you can tout the fact that it works better than the NVIDIA box?

I showed you a screenshot of the app on my phone. The app isn't broken, and the phone isn't broken. The login choice is available there.

Or, are you suggesting that there actually is no way to login? No way to listen to music on a music app? I hallucinated the fact that I logged in on my phone using a menu choice that was there but isn't in the Minix? I'm imagining the fact that I can listen to music with this app on my phone?

Does that make sense to you?

Villa, I'm trying to be nice here, so please work with me. There's a problem with screen rotation support, and there's a problem wherein apps can tell when an HDMI cable is plugged into the box. These need to be fixed.

Hey, I'm just a volunteer not MINIX staff!

I can't as I don't have Xfinity/Music Choice login credentials.

As for screen rotation being broken, it appears to work for other apps that require it!

Because the app detects the device is connected via HDMI would suggest the app developers only allow mobile devices.
As we can see in an earlier post...
Here's a screenshot of what I get when I try to watch a TV channel with the Xfinity streaming app:

Excellent.

Now, Villa and I got the same result from Music Choice, but you got something different. In fact, I've never seen your result, even on my Galaxy S9. So, could you guys exchange messages in whatever Minix-related jargon it is you both speak, and figure out the difference between your setup and Villa's (and therefore mine)? That would be enormously helpful; from your posted state of play I could get my issue resolved.

Standard U9-H, nothing special, no tweaks, no fancy apps .....

better go get yourself a decent phone as well......

Then it's a setting or something. I certainly didn't break mine.

Better than a Galaxy S9? When one comes out I'll consider it.

Your posts in this thread make me wonder about what it takes to be a "Trusted Helper" around here. Apparently, not a whole lot, unless neither of those words translates well.

You don't need them. Just get me the upper part of the menu with the "Login" selection on it, and I'll take care of the rest.

Bruce, I have the same issue using the ATT-uverse app on the TV thru my U9-h. Att finally admitted that that app will only work on Phones and not thru a TV. & U9-h.....Take that FWIW.
