Bells.

Hi Folks, I have two boxes one is a U1 and the other is U9. Both work fine, but when I use the U9 box I get very loud bells, chimes or sleigh bells at random. I have tried changing the audio settings, but it happens without warning and during no particular program. It doesn't interfere with the video. Any advice?
Thanks,

It seems to me that the notifications volume is turned up, you can check the status by using the small Minix handset that came with your units, the easy way to check is to ensure that there is no audio or video playing and then press the volume plus on the handset .. this will bring up a volume at the top of the screen indicating the status of the notification volume the Icon should be a "Bell" ... I expect from what you say that it will be advanced toward the full volume ... now hold down the minus button and you will see the volume decrease ... If you are able to go into the setting menu and choose advanced settings you will be on a white background screen with areas of control placed neatly relevant to the usage access.... there is one for Sound .. so take a look in there and adjust the volume sliders to suit your needs ... that should solve the issue ... but you maybe are accidently turning up the Notification in the way I have described above ...

Thanks W, I have done what you told me and it went well up to the advanced settings page with white background. After that I went to Sound and Notification now I see : Media Vol., Alarm Vol., Notification Vol. and Do Not Disturb. Having moved the sliders I now find I have no volume at all when I try to play a video. I obviously did something wrong. Any idea what it was?

Move the media slider back to maximum but leave the other 2 sliders at minimum. (Media slider has what looks like a music symbol styled icon.)

I did what you said and went over it carefully and everything is back to normal. No bells so far.
Thank you very much.
