Sorry to hear that, however I updated three units and all went to plan. I think what might surprise people who are unfamiliar with the process is just how long it takes to unpack and install this update, I left them to get on with it and had a cup of tea, now they are working as expected. I did have a concern once the first one started and that was I have memory card in my personal one and hoped that did not cause any issues, it did not.

would suggest power off if there has been no response for a while and give it a minute and try again, good luck, and sorry to hear of your dilemma.

I've waited now for a few hours ,even unplugged and rebooted with no luck , after reboot appears a splash screen with Minix HDMI and a few seconds after the Minix Logo that flashes Blue, then after I hear a chime that the box makes when its in Operation, but the screen remains black.long pressing the Power Button on remote, brings up the Power menu to Power off ,sleep ,restart etc, So from that I know the box somehow operates but I cannot access or see the launcher . Also when i originally updated a TF 256gb memory card was still in the SD slot.

I guess its time to consider flashing the firmware. There are instructions on the forum, blow by blow guides, good luck.

Try unplugging the HDMI lead and then replug whilst the minix appears to be working but a black screen.

Are you using a HDMI switch?

I have issues when using a HDMI switch!

No I am not using a HDMI switch ,using one of 3 HDMI ports at back of Samsung TV, I tried your @pusb87 suggestions but no change, I guess i will have to Flash it for recovery. But i was hoping not too because i would Lose all my programs and months of Customizing aaaahm.*sigh*

Have you tried cycling through the TV inputs?

When I have issues, I usually switch to the TV antenna, let TV play for a few seconds then re-select the HDMI input which the MINIX device is connected to.

To flash minix firmware and keep all existing data and settings select ONLY erase bootloader in the USB Burn Tool

Will do that ,how do i update/fix via Burning Tool? Do i first need to download the 008 firmware Image file on PC ,where it says Import Image .or do i just go about it without .

008 has not been released yet for download, use the 006a firmware and follow the instructions provided, except for what i said above. Should take you back from where you were prior to OTA update

@pusb87 AND all who gave me tips ,I just want to say a BIG heartfelt THANKS for guiding me. After a few attemps (9) to be exact ,I successfuly reloaded my Box using only"delete Boot loader option" and ow its back up and running without having to painstakinly all my Apps, especially my kodi builds etc and games.you guys save me a few hours or days of strenuos work?.If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.

Hi.
Personally i prefer using default options, erase flash and erase bootloader (when manually flash the device).
Advantages in my point of view:
-after the update if you have problems you don't know if it was the flash method
-you know what are the apps pre installed and the behaviour of the device with everything "clean"
-etc..

With only erase booloader selected:
-it saves you time to install apps (etc) but if you have a problem you don't know if it was because of the flash method and with that you end up wasting more time , etc
-not to mention that with this method after the flash you can perhaps have a black screen.

Note:
Whatever you do always do regular backups

FFS It takes all of 10 minutes to do it this way

fluffy stuff It takes all of 10 minutes to do it this way
Well it is my preference (default settings)

Another "similar" example is OTA updates that can go wrong (it shouldn't have problems but it gave and to several users), we have here on the forum examples.

FOTA is basically the same as usb burning tool method with only erase booloader selected.

Funny enough a few months ago when i first got my Box , after Initial setup ,I checked OTA updates and had updated it to 006 firmware ,it worked fine except for gliching now and again just for a second or two while playing Videos or normal Operation , someone I believe one of the Moderators suggested it Was a faulty HDMI cable, I beleived it Was caused by the boxes antennae, but who knows I used various high end HDMI cables but kept getting the same senario, but this is the kicker after this morning recovery/update the box is stable as ever even using the same cables, so I am guessing the first time I updated using OTA ,broke my Box,Minix Martin posted on someone elses Post not so long ago, that they Release the firmware Update so a few users could test it out and if it works they will Release it officially, thats in my opinion B.S.what about when it does not work in my case and a few others,do Management say "oh well sorry for your lost you were unlucky ones".
If I didn't have Patience and understanding by asking for tips and help, this Situation could have escalated to something ugly, I do not want to be someone elses Experiment, before Posting Updates they should have thoroughly tested so something like this does not Happen, that 008 update popup on my Box while checking for Updates that means it Was official ,next time also write update is ready but do so at your own Peril fair Warning. Future Updates should come with Warning ?⚠️ ? Tags, for unsuspecting Minix owners.End of Rant.

Hi,
As many on here have posted I updated my neo u22-xj box a few days ago and went to turn it on yesterday the minix logo comes up and my main screen pops up for a spit second before the screen goes blank and I cannot access anything. I have tried turning it off and on numerous times but it still won't work. I noticed mekey updated his successfully has anyone got a step by step set of instructions on how to fix it via a laptop?

Please install via manual update :
https://theminixforum.com/index.php...w-20210203-bugtracker-ota-now-available.3722/
All you need are in the first post:
-manual installation (instructions and firmware)
-use usb burning tool V2.2.0 (and use default settings, erase flash and erase bootloader selected)

Note:
After manual installation:
If OTA update is available (and when it´s available) do first a backup and then update only if you need.
