Booting Linux and Ubuntu issues on MINIX Neo Z83-4 mini PCs

Thanks for the clarification on what exact BIOS is needed and the procedure to install it. I am not quite sure what "PM @Minix" means or how to do that. I tried sending email to support@minix.com.hk but did not hear back. Thanks for your help!

Edit: I think I figured out how to do this. For anyone else unclear on this process that is probably obvious to normal people -
"MINIX - John" is a single user name on this forum. It is tagged with "Administrator" rank, so that is encouraging.
I clicked on "Members" in the top forum menu. Find this user in "MINIX Staff". Click on the user (or hover) and click "Start Conversation".
Or just hover over his name in the post and click Start Conversation (y)

I suggest you PM @MINIX - John and ask him for ...
I don't mean to belabor this but @MINIX - John replies:
If you need assistance, it’s quicker to email our customer support team – support@minix.com.hk – rather than sending me private
messages on the forum.
Since I'm at a bottleneck waiting for this BIOS image to solve this problem, it would seem that how to extract it from the support staff is important to the resolution. I'll continue to wait for a response to my email sent to support@minix.com.hk .

I've been waiting since July 5 to hear from support@minix.com.hk and I have heard nothing (except MINIX - John promptly replying to me to say I'd get a quicker reply from that email address). Should I just send this computer back and give up on them? Why can I not get a simple URL for the BIOS image? Unless I'm overlooking something, this is really quite a strange lapse in customer service for such a simple request.

Hi,

I've installed today Ubuntu 20.04.3 and I'm facing the same issue. The only way to get Ubuntu running is by entering in recovery mode. By normal boot stays the screen black and I cannot do anything more.
I've installed the ISO from the official website. (Actually I've installed ubuntu because I just want to start in the linux world).
Do anyone here could help me?
Thanks in advance

I went back to Ubuntu 18 image but the same issue still and I cant seem to get the sound card to detect no matter what I try. I am about sudo'd out lol
