I have a Z83-4 from 2017 running Windows 10 Home v1909. The Wi-Fi adapter is a Broadcom 802.11 WDI SDIO. I have recently moved from dead slow copper connection to fibre broadband using Sky in the UK. The Minix now has a habit of switching itself from 5Ghz providing 70Mbs download to 2.4Ghz with its 8Mbs download. I can find no preference option in the adapter settings to force it to stay on 5Ghz. I'm also unable to de-synchronise the two bands on the router as my Sky Q box apparently requires the router to be unchanged. Windows tells me I have the latest driver for the adapter and that I am in any case up to date for everything. Does anyone know of a driver update that would allow 5Ghz band to be selected or alternatively a viable plug-in USB 802.ac adapter that has been show to work with the basic Z83-4? I haven't asked Sky yet if the 8 Mbs on 2.4 is expected but it will definitely be slower than 5Ghz so it will be nice to have the option regardless of their answer.
I have tried Customer Services three times now but seen no reply so far.
