[Bug Report Filed] Kodi Amazon Prime Addon not working

All my Kodi addons and features are working fine except for the Amazon Prime Add-on.

When I play a video it plays as an Audio CD with just the artwork and audio.

This addon works fine on my U9-H and it works fine on my Sony Phone with Android 9. I tried a new install of Kodi on my U22-XJ and that did not help.

Has any one tried this addon on their U22?

(The Amazon Prime App works ok but it has the limitation of only outputting SD videos where the Kodi Addon will output HD and surround sound.)

Using Kodi 19 Matrix I've tried and only get audio too.

Another issue is I only get German audio even after tinkering in settings!

I see you have posted on the Kodi Forum too! (y)

I tried another Android 9 TV box and it does the same for HD Amazon videos. but works ok for SD videos. (only reason to use the Kodi App is to get HD from Amazon Prime)

I contacted the App developer so hopefully some one here or the developer can figure it out. It is not in the area of my software expertise.

Sounds like a codec issue, I wonder what format the video is? It is obviously able to decode the audio but is failing to decode the video in conjunction with that.

I suspect a change in the file format that gets passed to the inputstream addon so it thinks it is an audio file and opens the Music window instead of a video window. I captured the kodi logs showing this and opened a bug report in the Kodi forum

If the developer determines it is a MINIX OS bug I will pass it on.

Your full bad log certainly displays an extensive collection of highly questionable add-ons being present & installed that are listed as banned in the official Kodi wiki!!

Ultimately, they cannot be discussed here either. (Probably best you either remove the logs or supply links to new logs of a clean Kodi installation with official/supported add-ons only.)

Kodi's devs won't provide you with any support for the same reasons while you have logs that clearly outline your use of banned add-ons either, so I wouldn't expect a response on the Kodi forum or they may remove your recent posts too.

One would assume you're using a VPN? Have you tried accessing the official Amazon Prime add-on with the VPN disabled?

Except for one they should not be there. I cloned my kodi.org file when switching to matrix and it looks like a lot of garbage got left behind.

Thanks... I need to do a clean installation.

Still Villa confirmed that the bug exists.

Nevertheless, your core issues still remain lol ;)!! As long as your current log files are saying you have various banned add-ons installed, you have banned add-ons installed as far as anyone else is concerned, especially if you're asking for official support.

Yes, Villa has also confirmed something is going on but what exactly? (Ordinarily, you'd expect to find a number of similar complaints for the same add-on on the Kodi forum, but users asking for official support also don't have an entire library of banned add-ons installed either lol.)

Until you do have a clean install of Kodi & associated log files that do only list official/supported add-ons, you'll still be stuck with no official support from Kodi, any user support on this forum, or tech support from MINIX.

I only very briefly scanned through your partial bad log file too, but I also saw an error in there specifically noting a Widevine issue with the Amazon video add-on.

Scan through the log files yourself & specifically look for any errors, you may then actually be able to use the info you find & Google to begin to troubleshoot the problem yourself or source some additional information :). (Use a text editor to load your logs & you can conduct a specific word search for "error" (etc.) to save you having to trawl through your logs line by line. Errors often have an associated code that you may also be able to get some additional info on as well.) :)

I did a clean install of Kodi with only the Amazon prime addon and duplicated the same problem

Logs are updated

You can see some errors but with out knowing the addon code they don't mean much to me. But I will investigate in the next day or so .

The addon is Kodi 19 compartable it works perfect on my Neo U9-H. Problem is with the U22 and a T95 box i borrowed running Android 9. It works on on my Sony phone running Android 9 so it not just an Android 9 issue
