Firstly, whenever I have run into problems with my X8-H Plus I flash the stock ROM (I know you have tried with Lollipop, this one is Kitkat) from Finless over at freaktab, this is an SD Card method, please read his post carefully so you understand what is required, link: Minix Neo X8-H PLUS Stock ROM

Secondly, if that does not work then can you give it a try using TWRP using the same Kitkat stock ROM from above, clutching at straws here!!
Download TWRP Click Here
Instructions Click Here

So can this stock Rom be applied using the usb burning tool or should it be applied as per the readme and an sd card?

No this cannot be done via USB Burning Tool, this is a ROM in zip format so SD Card as per the readme. If he SD Card method fails, then try the TWRP method but you will need the zip file named minix_x8hplus_stock from above as you cannot install img ROM's via TWRP.

So here is option 1 in the readme results, see attached pic

Given up on this, box is toast
That's not the Minix spirit ;)

Now, my memory is not what it used to be and it is a long time ago that I was facing similar issues, what you need to do now is boot into the TWRP recovery and reformat the cache, this is where I forget the different formats available but basically you need to choose any one of the non defaults and then format it again straight after with the default one, this would clear any corruption in that partition, then flash the ROM again, this is important do not try reboot the device!! You need to avoid booting into the screen you have posted above, this is the stock recovery. If you have a bit of patience I could venture back into my X8-H Plus and give you a more detailed guide but I'm a bit stretched for time so no promises on a deadline. I think we take this to PM until resolved and then post the details for others users if they encounter this problem.

Hi all,
I have the same issue. The internal memory seems completely unrecoverable. I read somewhere else that maybe it could be fixed. It would require to access the mainboard and to "short pin" the NAND memory. Any one has any idea?
Thanks

When you say you have the same issue, do you mean you have the same screens as originally posted (#1)?

Or, you have tried following all of the other suggestions since but none of those have helped your problem either?

(It pays to be clear & provide as much information as you can, including everything you have or haven't tried so far yourself too ;).)

@Marty, did you ever resolve this issue via your PM with the OP as well please :)?

My bad, I should have been more specific.
My Minix is in very bad condition. When I try to restore any kind of firmware with any kind of method, I'm ending with I/O errors like shown on the post #9 of this thread. https://theminixforum.com/index.php?threads/can-this-box-be-recovered.1923/post-12410
