Hi, I have a U9-H with last official stable firmware. This is what happens every time: my CEC option is turned OFF (i don't use it and my tv doesn't like it) but if I restart the minix, CEC goes ON even if in the options is still checked as OFF (I know it's on because if I turn off the tv, minix turns off). What's goin on?!?

Is your U9-H actually switching off or just going into standby?

HDMI CEC can be a giant pain in the backside or it can work well. The problem is it's literally like Heinz, there's 57 different flavours.

Is CEC definitely disabled on your TV as well as the U9-H?

Otherwise, it could be some weird glitch with your specific TV that's still managing to send an off/standby signal to the U9-H. Check your TV's settings for any other specific settings for switching connected equipment into standby. (My Panasonic TV for example, somewhat clumsily has two different settings under two separate sub menus. Thankfully CEC itself works well, however.)

I have similar problem, my lg webos tv keep waking up my minix u9-h every time i press the ok button. I have disable cec from both, or activate only one of the two all combos with no luck. For me tv is the problem since i didn t have this issue with my old samsung smart tv.

Could be that the TV remote OK button sends the same RF signal as the U9-H power button.
Cover the IR sensor of the U9-H to see if this is so.

damn!!!. You re right man, seems that the tv's control ir conflicts with the box. However i can't think of a solution. Thanks

Put the U9-H in another room!!!:ROFLMAO:
Of course i won't place the box in another room, i just cover the ir eye. The power button of the A3 remote works with ir blaster not bluetooth but fortunate i could wake it up from tv by hdmi cec. Thanks for the help.

Hi, @ArcticWolf , thank you for the answer.

When the problem appears, U9-H goes into stanby.
The problem is not the tv. CEC on the tv is ON and has to stay ON in order to "talk" with my home theatre.
The problem is on Minix: once it's CEC option is disabled, it works ok. After a reboot (with the CEC option still disabled on the menu) CEC is again ON. To resolve the problem I have to turn ON and OFF CEC option in Minix menu.

My AVR & TV are the same, I have to keep CEC on for both or ARC doesn't work so I understand your need to keep CEC enabled.

Have you tried a different combination of the available options under the HDMI CEC settings on the U9-H?

For example, my U9-H is set to....

CEC Switch - On
One key play - Off
One key power off - Off
. (I had some CEC issues with this enabled, disabling it resolved them.)
Auto change language - On. (This was on by default & I've never altered it as I've read about others having issues who changed it.)

If your U9-H continues to enable the CEC despite you repeatedly disabling it then you could try a factory reset & see if that helps. Additionally, if your TV or AVR have also received firmware updates, you could also try factory resetting them as well & see if this resolves this problem. It is a bit of a pain yes, but there is a chance it could help. It's not uncommon at all for certain features to get messed up after a firmware update unfortunately.

I will try with those options

CEC Switch - On
One key play - Off
One key power off - Off
.
Auto change language - On

PS: offtopic... when I playback my movies, I have to offset the audio track (about 250ms). Have you got the same issue?

Any joy with those CEC settings or still the same?

To answer your other question.....

....I did have some issues early on with A/V sync that was caused by a setting on my specific AVR. I can either set to HDMI Auto or 0 ms for normal viewing, or adjust the value manually if required. However, I found that if I had it set to HDMI Auto a lot of movies could get badly out of sync & the more I tried to correct them by manually offsetting the worse they would get. Obviously it's an issue with the automated HDMI A/V syncing. I just leave it set at 0 ms & don't use the HDMI auto setting. I rarely have to use any audio offsetting then, (I really only ever need it for badly ripped/synced media ;)).

Look & see if your AVR has a similar option as well or any settings related to automated A/V sync ;).

No way, the problem persists whit those settings too.

About audio delay: where are the options you mentioned?

OK, if you've tried factory resetting your TV & AVR, & still no joy, unfortunately you may just have to live with the CEC issues :(. Or, disable it completely on the U9-H. CEC is far from perfect with the different manufacturers essentially naming & configuring it as they see fit.

The A/V sync settings I mentioned are specific to my Sony STR-DN1080 AVR!! What make/model is your AVR?

Check your AVR's user manual or online guides for A/V sync issues.
