change A3 remote keyboard language

I have a Neo U9-H with an A3 remote control.
My system language is set to UK English.
Is there way to set-up the keyboard on the remote control so that it can switch to typing a second language (English and Greek)?

Hey & welcome, & yes, you can :).

You don't mention installing any additional keyboard apps (such as G-Board) so the following information assumes you're using the default Android Keyboard (AOSP)? (However, if you have installed a 3rd party keyboard the process is very similar indeed for many keyboard apps I've used, it's just some of the finer details that may differ slightly.)

Enter the settings on your U9-H & simply select keyboard, then select configure (keyboard options).

From there, select languages.

Once into the languages sub menu, depending on how you initially configured your U9-H it will either be set to the default "use system language", or it may be set to English (UK).

If the former is the case, just deselect "use system language" & then manually select the 2 languages you do want to use such as English (UK) & Greek.

If the latter, all you need to do is select Greek in addition to English (UK) which was already selected.

Job done :).

Does that solve your problem?

Also once you have setup different keyboards/languages you can install a Keyboard Switcher to easily switch from the Home Page.

I used to use one but can't remember what it was called or find it in the Play Store. So just search the Play Store for keyboard switcher.

Some keyboard apps may already allow this but I haven't tried any.

Happy new year.
Thanks for your reply.
Yes I am using the Android Keyboard (AOSP).

I performed the settings you suggested, BUT when I exit from settings and enter again the selection reverts to "Use system language"
settings -> keyboard -> [current keyboard: Android Keyboard (AOSP)] -> configure -> deselect [use system language], select English and Greek
Then I exit and the my choice, English and Greek, appears under languages.
However when I exit completely from settings and enter again as above, I see that the keyboard languages has reverted to "use system language"
Any suggestion?

Also I see that there is another setting that may be pertinent to my predicament.
settings -> advanced settings -> language and input -> Sage technology Sage Airmouse -> set-up keyboard layouts
From there I can set up multiple languages for the Neo A3 remote keyboard and they work but only one at a time. I am supposed to be switching between languages using the Control-Spacebar key combination. Any idea what is the "Control" key?

Thanks, & a happy New Years to you also :).

Hhmmmm, I'm now having the same issue as well. I can't even select a single language now, let alone two!! (I can remember this definitely working with previous firmware versions as I definitely had mine manually set to English (UK).)

Yup, the default keyboard (AOSP) is for the on screen keyboard & yes, completely forgot about the options for configuring the physical keyboard as well lol .

The easiest way to reach those is to enter settings, then advanced settings (identical to settings on any Android device). Once there enter "Language & Input".

I am working from memory here as I currently have a backlit A3 connected to my U9-H which has a different controller than the standard A3 which has the "SAGE Airmouse" controller.

Under the aml_keypad option, you can select multiple languages.

(My controller currently reads as a "Mems Art RF Controller" where SAGE would ordinarily be. In there you can also select multiple languages as you can with SAGE as well.)

Once set, try @Villa 's original suggestion of a keyboard switcher. (When you select multiple physical keyboard layouts it actually states in the dialog box to use control + space to switch between them. Obviously not an option with an A3.)

Try a switcher.

Let us know if you've been successful :).

Neo T5 + A3 Backlit

The keyboard switcher is working but it is not convenient.

I see that you also have a Neo T5 + A3 combination. How are things working there? If you define multiple languages for the A3 hardware keyboard, does a long press of the space bar allow you to switch keyboard languages quickly?

Surely it's better than nothing, however :)? At least the option is actually there.

You were asking about the U9-H!!

My backlit A3 is now currently with my U9-H & a standard A3 with the T5. I changed my sig again accordingly :)

In all honesty my T5 is configured pretty much using the default settings. I haven't needed to change anything & I don't use multiple languages.
