Cloning 2 identical boxes

I currently have 2 u22-xj boxes. One is up to date and operates properly and the other will not even boot. Is it possible to clone the one that works to the one that doesn't in some way. Any advice that can steer me in the proper direction would be appreciated. Thanks
 
Do I perform this on my tv, or on my computer? Will my A3 remote work for this procedure, or do I need a mouse attached to the USB ports of the box
 
Same as @Marty, if one device doesn't even boot, return it.
Twrp is not easy, try to flash the official firmware with USB tools on your pc.

The formatting of the SD Card to FAT32 is done on the PC, as is copying over the recovery.img onto the SD Card. The TWRP backup and restore is done on the U22 while connected to the TV so you can see what is going on (like you see in the screenshots of the tutorial).

Yes, well it does for me.
 
No can do, will not work following Marty's instructions. Error messages appear when wiping the cache. is there anything else that may work. USB burning tool is giving me a UBOOT error when I tried it.

Sounds like an eMMC failure or along those lines anyway, submit a warranty return on the unit.
 
Marty, got it to work by using the Amlogic boot maker but now will not update past 20200612 using FOTA. Am I doing something wrong? Do not want to manually do this again. Worried that it may crash again. Any suggestions?

Standby with the FOTA update, there are a lot of reports from users saying they cannot update which leads us to believe the FOTA server is down at the moment, please wait for a Minix member to confirm.

Thanks for this link to TWRP for my Neo U22. I don't see a thread specifically on this TWRP. So I will post here and maybe someone can put this in a better location, if there is one.

The TWRP above does seem to work when booted from an external SD card. However, I notice that when I am in TWRP, sometimes the screen goes black and stays that way - even after re-plugging the HDMI cable. I end up not knowing where I am or what to do - beyond pulling the power plug - which I hate doing.

Any suggestions/fixes for this?
