CoreELEC - MINIX U9-H

Guys,

I installed CE to the internal memory of my U9.

Only do this if you know how to handle USB burning tool to get the original FW back!!!!

But if you are able to do so I agree with Skynet. The performance is awsome and all plays smoothly. I had some researche to do to get the procedure in my mind but i manage to do so. If i can, more of you can.

I use the Harmony One remote and also this is working on CE now. It was also more like searching out the procedure then the procedure itself.

I am very happy with the performance overall. The audio PassThru works flawless. DTS-HD, Atmos, all is working. No stutters in playing 4K and skipping and fast forward goes like a rocket. Note that i use NFS in stead of Samba. In my opinion NFS is the fastest way to stream.

If anyone wants a helping hand. I and others are willing to help. For that this forum is about.

Peter, did you install Harmony Elite driver using this tutorial ?
https://theminixforum.com/index.php?threads/coreelec-minix-u9-h.261/post-2133

It doesn't work with mine.

@Skynet
I used another one.

I use the Logitech Harmony One remote to operate the minix U9.

If you EXACTLY do step by step as described in the tutorial it should work.

Handy is: When copying a line from the tutorial, you can paste it in Putty bij clicking the right mouse button. In that case you don't need to type it over and can't make mistakes.

It worked for me.

Let me know if it worked for you.

I installed the 9.0.2 version on my parents U1 yesterday... It's awesome. Everything works perfectly, including the passthrough and refresh rate switching. It's a beast when running from internal memory.

EDIT: Just one thing... How do I create an advancedsettings.xml in coreelec? Do you have a customized one that works well for you?

Does anyone know why I now get this message on screen every time I start Corelec? 60 seconds delay in starting.... It seems to be happening since automatic update to KODI 9.0.2
It says "update" but I'm already on latest version?
Booting from micro sd.
Thanks in advance

It's a bug, i have the same.
You can by-pass it with a click on your remote.

Hi! Just installed in U9-H internal memory... but I get frequent stop/buffering cycles when playing movies over wi-fi from my Synology NAS... please note the same problem don't occur with Librelec or Minix Android playing over wi-fi the same movies from the same NAS, so it's not a network problem... I also tried to introduce advancedsetting.xml but nothing changes.. any hints?

Same configuration here but with ethernet cable.
I also use NFS instead of SMB, it's faster. No buffering issue at all.

Take a look at this:
https://theminixforum.com/index.php?threads/any-knowledgeable-kodi-mysql-users-please.1274/

When i tried to copy advancedsettings.xml to my clients i had a problem with port number and i had to change that.
That link is for kodi NAS server but can help you setup your advancedsettings.xml, take a look also in the youtube video.

Hi guys! I solved the problem switching from 802.11N network to 802.11G. I noticed that the 5G connection (only from Minix) became really really slow. A few days ago I installed the new Asus Merlin firmware, may be there's an incompatibility between new router firmware and CoreElec wifi driver? However with 802.11G connection all is smooth & sound!!!

802.11G it is even slower than 802.11N.

You can try use wireless network mode - mixed

Disable wireless security to test also - i had problems in my dd-wrt second router and i had to put the security wireless settings in :
TKIP+AES

The best option if you can is use ethernet gigabit (if your router has) or at least a wired connection.

Unfortunately the Minix is far from the router so the cable is not an option. However, as I said all movies run smooth as silk in CoreElec Minix U9-H over 802.11G... I'm just curious to know the reason of the low speed of 802.11N with Minix. Consider also I've another Kodi installation over Amazon Fire TV Stick which runs smooth over 802.11N and is also more distant from the router than the Coreelec Minix U9-H !!! So it's not definitely a network issue!

If your router has both 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz and you are using the same SSID for both bands you will have to separate them. Then manually assign the 5Ghz to the U9-H. The devices working on the 2.4 one will always perform well as they can't see the 5Ghz frequency but the devices that are made to work with one frequency or the other can sometimes (or everytime, as I experienced) try to connect to the 2.4Ghz which has a wider spectrum, and so seems to be closer, than the 5Ghz when device is far from the router, but because the 5Ghz has the ideal speed for the device it tries to get the best of the two world's and that will cause wifi to perform terribly bad.

is there a particular setting that I need to enable Coreelec to ouput BT2020. I can do it with Libreelec but not with Core.

I had 9.0.2
Got a auto update and after a reboot 9.0.3 with Kodi 18.3. Awsome!!! The Coreelec is a real improvement on my Minix.
