CoreELEC on U22-XJ and Harmony Touch (IR)

Hi, I successfully installed coreELEC v9.2.3 on U22 FW004 through USB Stick. After a basic configuration, I notice I'm not able to manage the coreELEC/Kodi GUI through my Logitech Harmony IR remote (profile U1 and U9). I had some issue with it using minix U22 + Kodi because some buttons doesn't work correctly so I tried installing coreELEC to verify if the remote works better but I discovered it doesn't work at all :(

Do I miss some steps configuring coreELEC or my Harmony? Someone else is using coreELEC with an IR Harmony remote?

Thank you in advance for any advice

You need to change the ir file on Coreelec
Same as on the u9...
When this correctly installed and harmony set to u9 all buttons are working.

Thank you for the advice. I followed all the instruction and I got it works only partially. Unfortunately it acts the same way in Kodi with Android OS. My Harmony with U9 profile is able to manage all buttons except for Play, Pause, Stop, Fast Forward and Rewind. It sounds to be something related with U22 itself independent from the OS.

Did you set your Harmony remote to U9 ?

Yes I did. From the Harmony app, I configured a device as Neo U9 and create an activity that includes this device. Configured like this, the remote works for both Standard Kodi (Android OS) and CoreELEC but with same behaviour: all buttons work but Play, Pause, Stop, Fast Forward and Rewind

I think you did something rong..

With corelec all buttons work on my u22.
On android I am not sure not tested yet.

But this instruction change only the ir for Coreelec.
Not sure how to change it on android.

Did you have the message at putty
"Wrote 26 keycodes to driver"
And reboot

@tom31
I'll double check my config for coreelec paying more attention on the putty messages. It will really appreciated if you can give a try to your remote with standard Android OS + Kodi just to verify if it fully works. Is your remote an IR Harmony configured with the Neo U9 profile?

thx

Yes it is a harmony remote and I use the profile of the u9.
I don't think harmony have a u22 profile yet. But it is the same remote

I will try it this evening and let you now..
but like I said with this instructions it will only change at Coreelec and not for android.

But on Coreelec play, pauze,... Everything works using this ir file

On android same as on Coreelec
Standaard remote file. Play, pauze, forward,.. Don't work on kodi

Thank you for the double check. Same behaviour as mine. I suspect there is something related with last Android OS version that prevent harmony with U9 profile to control Play/Pause/FF/R/Stop buttons from working. I opened a request to Logitech to include U22 profile in their DB but they replied it'll take time. I'll try again with coreelec

I don't now it gone make a difference..
The original minix remote have no play, pauze,... Buttons.
And the remote of the u9 works olso for the u22 so it is the same remote.
maybe minix can add support for this buttons.
Our maybe you can change the ir file of the android os but I don't now that is possible

Well, I've three minix: X8-H Plus, U1 and U22-XJ. So far, I'm able to manage all Kodi functionalities (I mean all buttons) on Android OS configuring the Harmony with the X8-H profile for X8-H Plus and U1. With U22, the harmony is not able to manage the specific Play/Pause/Stop... buttons neither with X8-H profile nor with U1 profile.

From information I have, it could be something related to the "Android OS" or interaction it has with minix hardware just because, as you confirmed, using CoreELEC the Harmony with U1 profile works well.

Hi
I gave it a try without any "visible" success. What I mean is that trying to map some remote button IR code to the related function in Kodi (ie Play, Puse, Stop,...) results in no-IR-code recognized by the Kodi add-on/Android OS. I tried to use my Harmony Remote configured with the U9-H profile and my Samsung TV remote without any success. I tried to press randomly buttons on the Samsung TV remote and sometime I success to let Kodi add-on to get and register the IR code.

Any idea about this strange behavior?
