Custom ROM MARTY U1 FW013 SPMC ROM

I created this ROM solely for smooth video playback in SPMC so please do not go asking for Live Wallpaper, AirPin etc...., it is stripped to the bare minimum for better performance. I have not tried it with Kodi as I prefer SMPC because it utilises the amcodec.

You will need to run the SuperSU app and reboot after install to access the SuperSU settings, it is pre-rooted but the app doesn't seem to realise it.

Details:
- Removed some Minix code from the boot.img that was causing video stutter with amcodec.
- Added some code to the boot.img for better CPU performance.

I have been using SPMC 17.6 to test this ROM and the results have been flawless (for me at least), this ROM comes with SPMC pre-installed, in SPMC Settings switch to Expert mode and apply the following under Player settings:

- Set Adjust display refresh rate to Always
- Set Enable HQ scalers for scaling above to 100%
- Select Allow hardware acceleration - amcodec
- Deselect both MediaCodecs
- Set MPEG2, MPEG4, h264 and hevc to Always

Lastly, I am using this ROM direct U1 to TV via HDMI so please do not post asking about HD audio etc....I don't have the answers.

So without further ado, get flashing and enjoy............And as always, do so at your own risk.

This is awesome work. But I'm wondering if your performance tweaks are worth asking MINIX themselves to make them official? Then they can release 14 as their last firmware.

If this has great improvements, I can't see why they wouldn't.

It’s not related to my ROM as I don’t experience the same and no one else has reported this. Do you have an SD Card inserted? May sound stupid but if you do then remove it and do a reboot and see if you still get the pop up, process of elimination I’m afraid.
 
How to get Samba Server running?
Under Settings i enabled Samba Server and it showed my the IP and id:root / pw:123 combo, but i can't connect.
With normal FW013 it works.
 
I need advice. Every time I turn on the Minix U1 I see the start screen where it tells me that the application is starting, but then the whole system is immediately cut in the android menu. I unplug the power cord and turn on the Minix U1 again and it will run all the way to the menu until the next time it is turned off. Would anyone know what causes this ??? Thanks

Something has corrupted your system, have you tried clearing the cache from recovery?

Failing that I would suggest using TWRP recovery on an SD card and clearing both cache and dalvik cache, here is a link:

Important: Rename TWRP_3.0.2_U1_SDcard.img to recovery.img

Failing that I would suggest flashing the ROM again but this time remove the tick from Erase flash and leave Erase bootloader ticked, this will save your data and settings:

Lastly, if all else fails then I am afraid a complete flash would be needed.
 
Thank you very much, I installed TWRP via the Google Play installer of the file you provided. And did the cleaning + dalvik. It took a while for all the files to load, but I tried turning it off and on 8 times and everything works !!! thank you :)
