dak7385 Moved from NEO U22-XJ: 003A FW [20200503] - Bugtracker

Tried that. But no difference. Thank you for trying.

Dak, did you ever try the method that worked well for me & use your Nova Launcher to create (export) a backup image of Nova's configuration/settings as an entirety? (Am pretty sure @Villa also used the exact same method too (if my dreadful memory serves)!!?? However, I can't remember if he commented on Nova placing any widgets based on using a Nova backup from another device!!??)

If no, create your export on the U9-H, send the export file over to the U22, & using Nova's settings import said saved image.

This will immediately configure Nova on your U22 to look & behave identically to the U9-H. (If an app is installed on the U9-H but not the U22 the icon will still be placed on the launcher/homescreen but it will just remain greyed out/inaccessible, (unless you install the missing app on the U22 as well).)

Admittedly, I haven't tested this with widgets that the U22 presently struggles with adding to launchers for whatever reason, but there's always a possibility (however small ;) ) that it could also export their placement etc. (Provided that the identical widgets are present on both devices such as those that may be installed with a specific app!!) Otherwise, all icons definitely copy over (including their exact placement) whether positioned in the lower dock or the upper main home screen.

Certainly worth trying if you forgot about it or didn't yet do so ;).

Inform the folks if you have any magically appearing widgets.

Backedup Nova to device on u9h. Did not pick up sd card when offering where to save backup.

So, send to....file manager/vlc/gmail

Opted for gmail...
Sent to myself.

Opened u22/gmail ...downloaded, accepted change nova to backup changes. Opened Nova. Old settings were not imported. Went to nova settings/import......clicked on that ....white box with nowhere to import from.

Finally dragged apps tray to bottom of screen.

But....cannot drag any apps from minix to nova home screen. Same with trying to drag widgets to home screen.

Not to worry. But thanks?

Now that @Villa has moved your questions from the main bug tracking :)....

... Off the top of my head, when you export the Nova backup image it saves the file directly to the root of the internal storage?

Place the file in the same root location on the U22 before choosing the import option & it'll either just pick it up automatically or you can just select the file from the internal storage on the U22.

Job done :). (You can move a copy of the file around for safekeeping elsewhere as required, but if memory serves I think it has to be placed directly onto the internal storage & not within any folders or on a SD card, etc.)

Hope that sorts it. PM also replied.

Apologies, I should have clarified this earlier.
003A FW is available to download and install via OTA from all previous firmware versions (001FW, 002FW or 003FW).
If you manually install 003 FW you'll be able to update to 003A FW via OTA (the only difference between manually installing 003 FW and OTA 003A FW is the latter includes the OTA problem fix).

I apologise if I appear a dummy. But I have just used the burning tool route to install the FW. Happily it worked. But the posts around FW003A by FOTA and FW003 by burning tool just confuse me. When I open the FOTA app, it is now showing as FW003. When I click Update, it appears as "you are up to date". Prior to reflashing the box, It showed as FW003A.

I trust that this now OK. Thank you

When I did it after the FW003 flash V003A was available for me.
I installed the image and it appears to be V003 as it's filename suggests.

Run FOTA app and V003A update is available.

No solution needed!
Because you have flashed the image you have the same as V003A.
If you did get a message to say V003A is available then all it does is add the A to the version number.

The OTA may have been temporarily stopped for some reason.

Thank you for your reassurance. ?
No message received to say FW003A was available. Everything is working great now. ?Apart from my reports in the bugtracker. But I am sure they will be sorted out.
