Hello. I dont have a 4k TV and so i dont use 4k.
-How are using kodi?
-What kodi version are you using?
-Are you using wifi or ethernet?
-Are you streaming from a NAS or using a addon?

When our network is not working well it depends on many factors, can be many things.

I use 1080p (max) video streaming from my NAS (ethernet gigabit ) using kodi 18.2 and i dont have any problem .

Kodi 18.2 but olso this problem with 18 and 18.1
I use ethernet
I don't have this problem on corelec so I think it is something in the firmware our a problem with kodi on Android our a background app.
It is not easy to find out whay the box restart (Back to minix bootlogo)
After it reboots the collors of the TV are strange till I reboot minix with the power button

I have a full 4K HDR setup & I've never experienced any issues like you've described with my stock U9-H.

Are you using decent quality high speed HDMI cables? Have you tried switching the HDMI cable out for a proven cable?

If you've already swapped out your cabling, would advise uninstalling Kodi, reinstall & start fresh. Failing that, try factory resetting or reflashing the official MINIX 6.0.1 ROM.

Hopefully that will clear it, if it doesn't it could obviously be an unfortunate hardware issue.

It might also be worth installing a small app called Tinycore. Configure it to monitor your CPU usage & temps whilst running to check for overheats as well.

Keep us posted ;)!!

Test what ArticWolf said and do also a router factory reset to ensure you dont have any speed/stability problems.

I was going to suggest:

In this website you have plenty of 4k files that you can download and test with a different player.

https://4ksamples.com/

Please do some testing with another player (MXplayer should do) and some local files in the box, to make sure that it is not some incompatibility between some Kodi add-on and the box regular setup (since you mention Coreelec is fine). If it goes well with the local files and the other player, then test Kodi with the local files and see how it goes. If it goes well this time you might have a crippled add-on causing the situation.

However, since you say it occurs after approx 1 hour play, then you have to get yourself a one hourly long file to test the above, and that might be not so easy, but it is worth trying. I am thinking about too many processes running and the box causing shutting down on processor overheating. This could make sense as Coreelec as by far less processes going.

Although I thought that to be impossible as I never saw it to happen in my U9s (I had two so far and none ever shut down on heating). So I would suggest that you press the all tasks killer button before trying Kodi again, and go from there and see what happens. Make sure the box is not over the heating exit of your AVR or something.

Hdmi kabel our all ready swapped
Kodi all ready reinstalled
But flashing our factory reset not yet. But I try to avoid it because I have to reinstall apps and Coreelec again... Same reason I don't try this beta rom yet...

Overheating is possible after reset the box feels a little hot in kodi is displayed 60 degrees for the cpu.

But is is only when I stream the video not when I play it from a Harddisk

The box works a little hot. That is normal. What I meant is exactly that overheating a U9 is an abnormal situation. So please turn all apps down and make sure it is located in a cool place for the new tryings.

So probably you have an add-on situation, and that can not be discussed here at this forum, as you are probably not streaming from a legal addon... If Kodi reads 1 hour 4k video from inside your box with no issues, that problem is not 4k playing all alone if it only happens in streaming.

Maybe but the problems is only for Android not at coreeleec
Anyway thank you for the information.
I wait for the next stable rom and reinstall it
I never said something about a illegal addon

No worries, that is just the definition we use to split the add-ons recommended by Kodi from the others that we can't discuss in the forum and that are sometimes full of broken code or worse. This is no courtroom. Besides I used "probably" profusely, no assumptions taken. :)
