Dolby Vision, Dolby Audio

If my AVR has DV and DA, using audio passthrough on my media hub, negates the neccessity for my media hub to have these features, right.

How do you come to that conclusion ? Its your media player playing the file, not the AVR or TV ,so depends on what the hardware/firmware/software of your media player is capable of is my reckoning.

My bad, I incorrect think of anything Dolby as being audio. So i can understand the need for Dolby Vision to be installed on the media hub to process DV files. But with respect to Dolby Audio, if I set my media hub to audio passthrough, why would the media hub need DA?

Passthrough will send the raw audio stream to the AVR for decoding., so for instance with Kodi you would set it allow passthrough if your AVR is capable of decoding the audio stream type you are playing.
Not all software players have this capacity however
