Errors on installing SSD and rebooting

Then do the clone option you mention
It may take you a day to get you head around cloning
Just in case you are curious!

I use Macrium Reflect Free Edition for cloning and imaging disks.

With Macrium Reflect you can also make an image of a current installation (this includes all you installed applications and data) and save it somewhere safe.
Then you can use that image to reinstate that installation if you ever have any future issues.

Also the image is mountable within Windows, ie: you can select the image file and see it as a physical drive so you can access data from it.

It is step 5 in the Firmware installation instructions for the NEO N42C-4

5. When you see the same window as Cleanup Test.jpg, please click the “Cleanup Test” on the desktop, then the box shall re-start.

As per your options, that's totally up to you!

It may take you a day to get you head around cloning in which time you could have your new install already set up.

You can still re-enable the eMMC and see it as D: Drive and not format it. You will be able to access any data that is there already.
You can also make it the boot drive again and run that instance of Windows if you ever need to.

Thanks Villa,
I don’t wish to attempt cloning therefore I shall stay with just the one SSD 500GB drive, so can you please confirm that I have the correct order of things to proceed:

1. Run ‘Clean-up test’ from the desktop and allow it to reboot. However, your link says that if it reboots to shell, change boot option 1 priority to eMMC or SSD, but I’m worried that to do that I‘d have to enable the eMMC which would reactivate the eMMC as drive C which may mean I’m back to square 1 re installing/cloning SSD, is that correct please? Shouldn’t I choose ‘windows boot manager’ as 1st priority boot instead?

2. Once windows is running, connect to the internet to allow Windows to activate.

3. Download and install all my desired programs.
thanks in advance.

1. You have to do it!
If you see shell then enter BIOS and make the correct boot option.
You don't/shouldn't need to re-enable the eMMC. Because it is disabled then it will not show up as a boot option!

2. & 3. Yes

Many thanks Villa, I’m waiting for our internet to come back on after the storms here in Cyprus so I can hopefully finish the story ?

Hooray! I’m all up & running now thanks to you all!
You're patience and help is much appreciated.
thanks a lot!

Well done for hanging in there (y). (A certain percentage would have simply given up or possibly gone insane ;).)

Enjoy the new system :).
