Ethernet and VPN?

Anyone have a clue why when I'm connected by ethernet and try to turn on my VPN I get a message saying that android 9 is known to have problems with ethernet and VPN and then it won't connect.
Also what is the last update this box received? I noticed that the last security update was in 2019

I'm not sure why but I believe Google have dropped their support for the T5, which, for some unknown reason, means MINIX can no longer provide updates.

If it's not too late, and you are unhappy with your purchase, return it.

That's too bad because I bought the box because it was google certified, I have a few that aren't and wanted an official certified box. Did some research and found this one, liked the specs and the box seems to work well...

The T5 was MINIX first venture into this territory. What has gone wrong we can only wonder!

Thats a known fault and weve been waiting over a year now for Minix to fix it, VPN will work with wifi if thats any consolation .
Regretably very poor support from Minix on this one , Google or not :(

For the price doesn't look like they are offering any support for the product, first time I've been told by the manufacturer to return the item because they can't support it.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I will reach out to minix support and see what they say but at the same time it does seem a bit shady to advertise a product as certified and not offer updates or make an announcement that the product is no longer certified. When I did my research I didn't find one post or link saying that the T5 was no longer being supported by Minix due to a google certification loss.

Wait, is this official?

I emailed Minix and asked them the following:
1. Is Minix still supporting the Neo T5?
2. Why can a cheap TV box connect to a VPN by ethernet and the Google certified neo t5 can't?
3. Why hasn't Minix fixed this problem?
The answer I got was,
1. Yes, they are still supporting NEO T5.
2. Because a cheap TV box doesn’t need to comply with Google certification policies that prohibit certain features.
3. They are investigating possible workarounds at the moment.
