Ethernet and Wi-Fi Speeds Slow

Got the unit from a friend, has the latest FW013. Problem is cannot achieve internet speeds much over 100Mbps, this on ethernet as well as 2.4 and 5Ghz. 1Gbps service to home, other devices on network see speeds of over 500Mbps on 5 Ghz and over 900Mbps over ethernet. Streaming services are unbearable to watch. Is this unit limited to just 100Mbps over Wi-Fi and ethernet?

No, see the spec sheet

If you are having issues with streaming services and you say you only have 100 Mbps then something else is wrong somewhere.

I would double check all your network settings.

I cant vouch for a giga bit service but i have 200 down service and the U1 easily achieves this over ethernet

Thank you pusb87 for the quick response! I would suspect the streaming service as the culprit for the constant poor viewing issues, it is not a paid one so you perhaps know the deal with those types of services, the ones that link to live sports. But what I cannot get is why the speed test I am using is showing a huge difference in performance from this unit and every other device on the network, perhaps I shall take everything off the network but the unit and see if bandwidth is an issue on my end.

Okay did that little test, all devices removed from network, rebooted network and only the U1 connected via ethernet, speed test result is 140.2 down and 306.3 up. Disconnected U1 and using same cable/port tested a a different device, 937.9 down and 308.6 up. To me that would indicate there is an issue in the U1

in addition to what has already been said by @pusb87, check also:
Wired Connection:
the cable connection of your router and if you have a switch (must be gigabit) in the middle connected

note:
For u1 to achieve speeds greater than 100mbps, the network cards of the connected devices must be, for example, gigabit.
Also check the connected rj45 cable if it is good and if it needs to be changed.
As for a wifi connection you have to check the network settings again, go to the router's page and double check.
The u1 is a device perfectly capable of better speeds, it has gigabit ethernet and wifi ac

Streaming services it's another story , you will always depend on the server you are connected to...

And thank you too notrui for a quick reply! See my little test above. DL speeds vastly different however UL's the same, used same cable and just simply disconnected at the U1 and plugged in 2018 Mac Mini.

you may want to try a factory reset in case something is muddled in the network adapter , bear in mind though you will lose anything you have installed.

From a fresh install just install the Analiti speed test app and see how that goes.

It may not matter but if you are using ethernet turn the Wifi off, and if using Wifi remove the network cable just in case.

Tried the factory reset, did not add any apps, speed test shows the same, must be something up with the network card in the box.

You might want to try a LAN speed test to make sure its not your internet provider or source thats the issue.

for both wifi and ethernet and you will need the server application on your PC ( info in the link)

Either way 100Mps+ is plenty for streaming
