FFMPEG on MINIX

Hi,
I'm currently trying to get FFMPEG for my U9 and U22 working which are running stock operating system. Reason is FFMPEG is required for the IPTV Recorder Add-on to work.

Issue 1: Get FFMEG
I found a android binary version of FFMPEG on github and also wondering if I can somehow extract FFMPEG from the MINIX COREELEC .img which from reading threads may contain ffmpeg. Not sure if either of these options will work.

Issue 2: Execute permission
Not sure if I need to chmod the FFMPEG to have X (execute) permission as the github version I copy over only has RW so I can't run it. I can SSH to the box but not as root so the chmod runs but doesn't work.

Any assistance or advise on this would be appreciated.

If you use coreelec you can just use the ffmpeg-tools addon

Seeing CoreELEC having ffmpeg-tools was one of the reasons I thought I should be able to get ffmpeg working on stock. I did buy a microSD today to try out coreELEC though end goal would still be to try getting it working on stock as I like having a android UI backend for some reason.
