Now that Minix has replaced ES File Explorer I have 2 questions.

I tried several other Explorers and now am not sure which one is the one Minix included, is it the one just named Files?

To replace ES File Explorer in my U1 with the new one where do I get it.
 
Now that that's set up one other question, can I transfer a zip file from one Minix box to another with CX file explorer?
I have a Kodi addon that's no longer available.

i think you would need also an FTP client

you have a number of easy options

1) install WIN SCP on your PC and grab the file using FTP server (via cx fe) to your pC and then do likewise on the other minix to send that file to the other minx ( Thats how i do it so i l always have a local copy of any files from the minix on my PC)

2) just use a USB thumb drive

and it may be possible to utilise the Samba server feature on the U22 but i havent tried that yet

Which other devices?

I believe you have a U1?!

Easy to use the built in Samba server on two MINIX Android devices.
Access it using a file explorer that supports SMB (Samba).
Usually I use ES File Explorer, but trying to wean myself of of it and use FX File Explorer.

Accessing the U22-XJ from the U1 or U9-H
Using ES FE, Network, LAN - usually a scan for devices is enough. The U22 shows up as MINIX_U22 and as an IP address also.
Select either and entering the U22 credentials does not work. The IP address has to be entered manually, then it works!

Accessing the U1 or U9-H from the U22-XJ
Using ES FE, Network, LAN - Scan finds said devices and can be fully accessed. (y)

It's really simple!
Install on U22-XJ.
Enable Root.
Run app and setup shares.
Done! (y)

Now you can enter the ip in Windows Explorer and fully access the U22-XJ.
On another Android device, access the U22-XJ using a file explorer that supports SMB.
Or install LAN Drive there too and select Client.

Without root
It's a litle more complicated at the PC end but the Dev includes Tutorials. Or you can purchase LAN Drive for Windows.
At the other Android device install LAN Drive there too and select Client.
 
I am not real tech savvy so I don't want anything to complicated.

So if I understand correctly I could transfer a zip file to a usb stick an then load to other device?
