If you have for example a app that need a higher version of android (or something similar) you need.is there any benefit to flashing android 7 over the install 6.01?
If everything is working for you now then no, as @notrui has stated if something is not working then yes. It may be best for you to spend a bit of time reading through the CE post for the good and the bad, from there you can make your own educated decision:is there any benefit to flashing android 7 over the install 6.01?
Hi there, thanks for the reply.
Yes, I followed that. Tried 7.1.2 and tried 008 too. Neither were actually used because their respective Burnit tools (two separate v2.08 and v something else, I think) recognized the device.
I suggest trying this burning tool version:
https://theminixforum.com/index.php?threads/neo-u22-xj-amlogic-usb-burning-tool-v2-2-0.2767/
i get:
uboot/getresult/diskinitial error
This is for U9H and you are talking about U1...I'm getting the same error, search my thread: "MINIX U1 Blue light, trying to flash image". I still haven't found a solution. I'm thinking the internal storage/ram could be bad? If so can I replace?
We have had multiple people in this thread with the exact same error/problem. I wish a MINIX expert could shed some light on this not so common but repeated failure mode.
I don´t think you should do that.I have a U1 with appropriate firmware and burn tool, but the same error happening same point 7% mark. I think the failure and possible resolution is common to multiple minix devices. I just did a google search on the web about other devices with uboot issues. Someone fixed there's by swapping out onboard battery. I know my U1 has cr2032 battery for the etc. I'm going to try this.
I don´t think you should do that.
You should first and try reflash the firmware.
As last resort you can open the device and modify the hardware (but only as last resort)
Note:
A time ago i managed to unbrick an old router by reflash and reflash until it works as it should be, and now it is working great.
If you don´t have another PC talk to a friend and flash it using his PC.===========================
Thank you, I appreciate your warning. I tried all the rest and am at my last resort. Swapping the battery for me is a trivial event.
