Firmware installation instructions for NEO U9-H with the burning tool

how do i know its finished
The burning tool shows also time elapsed.
Wait until say "burning sucessfully" in green color.
After you plug again the power cable it will take a little time to boot.
Then you have to choose the launcher you want.

The second boot is faster.

As far as I know, most of the Micro USB cables are capable of charging and transferring data, while I admit that a certain percentage of Micro USB cables are truly not able to transfer data.
There's a slight difference between the Micro USB cable that comes with the NEO U9-H and the regular Micro USB cable.
It's the metal part on the Micro USB cable that inserts into the NEO U9-H is a bit longer than the regular Micro USB cable.
For example, for the metal part that inert into the NEO U9-H, the cable that comes with the NEO U9-H is 8mm, while the regular Micro USB cable is 6mm.
I don't know the exact length of both metal part of the cables. Just for example.
sorry for the late response.
i tried yesterday to use a regular cable for the U1 and it got fully identified by the burning tool,
but on the other hand, i tried the same with regular cable on the U9-H and i got no identification.
so according to what u say here, i need to use the cable that come with the box, but it is a microUSB to usb b cable, and it means that i need another usb a to usb a cable the connect the pc, and this is a regular 6mm cable.
do u think it will identify the box?

make sure the "world cup" driver installed when you installed the Burning Tool, if not uninstall and reinstall, ( if your not sure then uninstall and reinstall anyway and you should get a prompt to install the world cup drivers )

remove any other usb devices and the hdmi cable before trying

make sure that the power is off on the minix ( by removing the power plug, wait 30 secs, plug in the usb cable to minix and pc, and then plug back in the power cable ) and then hold the power button for a few seconds or so ( 6-10ish) until you get the connection.

try different combinations of usb cables and USB2.0 ports...it can be problematic to get a connection

and make sure you have no "security" software that may be blocking the connection

and of course make sure you are using the right firmware image for your device

i got the burn tool to recognize my u9h. but now at 7% when formatting starts, it stops after a few mins after getting no response.
i also hear my minix connecting to usb and reconnecting like 4x from 0-7%

i got 2 2.0 ports tried em both with 3 different cables including the original minix otg cable.it recognizes it so thats not the problem.
it just cuts out the usb connecion 3 times or so while its trying to format etc
got rid of virus scanners etc nothing helped so far

Hi folks,

I am trying to update the firmware on my Minix device. I have a U9-H, old firmware. So old it doesn't store VPN profiles, so I wanted to update the firmware.

- The OTA update won't work / network not found
- I cleared the system update cache, but it still didn't connect
- I tried a factory reset, didn't work
- I tried to flash the 7.1.2 update but my PC didn't connect/recognize the Minix device
- I tried to flash the 7.1.2 update with a different version number of the USB Burning Tool but it didn't connect
- I tried a different USB port, didn't connect
- I tried a different OTG cable, didn't connect
- I tried flashing an older, more stable FW version, didn't connect
- I tried holding the power button while I connected the power cable, didn't help
- I removed the other USB connections and HDMI cable, didn't help
- I bought a USB 2.0 adapter ($10) to make sure it wasn't a 3.0 backwards compatibility issue, didn't connect
- I loaded the ZIP to a flash drive and tried installing via EXT, signature didn't verify

So now I'm pretty stuck. "Try another PC" isn't an option. Can someone tell me how to verify the signature (or change the settings so that unverified IMG file can install FW) or update the OTA or... anything that will work, please?

Thanks,
D.
