[Fixed] Icons on the lower control panel are unevenly distributed

Moved from Bugtracker thread.
Factory Reset Fixed the issue
Why it happened? Who Knows?

The icons on the lower control panel are unevenly distributed. Look at the volume up and down icons on the screenshot, they are not always accessible with the mouse.Screenshot 1.jpg
I use the launcher ADW Launcher v2.0.1. 75. On Launcher 3, sewn into the firmware, the location of the icons on the bottom panel is the same uneven.
Firmware - V002_20200330
Kernel version – 4.9.113_20200330
I tried changing the display resolution, went through all the possible ones – it doesn't help. Is this a bug ? How can I fix this ?

I've tested with Launcher3 & I'm presently using Nova Launcher. The depicted icons are arranged normally
for me.

Have you tried rearranging your icons or the number of icons in the dock & see if that has any effect? Or, try selecting an odd number.

I have a maximum of 9 icons in my dock but notice you have 10.

Give it a try & report back. Otherwise it could be an issue with ADW!!

It's not the launcher that's the problem, that's for sure. I tried regular Launcher 3, Nova launcher, Holo Launcher, Super P Launcher - the result is the same. The lower control panel with its icons is sewn into the firmware, the type of launcher used does not affect it in any way.

ADW launcher compared to others I like the most, it has a lot of settings (compared to Launcher 3, which has almost no settings at all), allows you to customize the appearance of the screen as it is most convenient for you.

This problem was noticed starting with the regular Launcher 3, even before installing ADW and other launchers.
Moreover, I had this view of the lower toolbar before the v002_20200330 version was updated. I did not attach much importance to this, believing that the new firmware will eliminate all bugs and flaws. But the miracle did not happen...

I specifically tried to reduce the number of icons in the ADW Launcher dockbar to six - nothing has changed, the problem remains.

I don't have this problem either, can you give us a bit more info please, what firmware are you on, how are you connecting to the TV, what resolution is the U22 showing in the settings, etc....

OK, I did originally say try an odd number, i.e. 7 or 9 but chances are it won't have any effect anyway. Try it on the off chance.

I was just wondering if it was a simple justification issue being caused by your dock icons. Nobody has previously mentioned this particular bug happening during device testing, pre or post release but I also can't recall anyone mentioning using ADW either.

I'm having a few teething issues with a couple of unrelated issues myself but I can't recreate what you're seeing at all bud. I'm messing with every setting I can right now to try & see what you are, but nothing!

Try the usuals of clearing individual app caches, app data, or just clear the entire system cache if you wish, see if that helps.

Otherwise, provide more info as @Marty has already advised above :).

We'll do what we can to recreate the problem for you but failing that - we all know it's a giant pain in the backside - but you may need to consider a factory reset based on how desperate you are to see if that will resolve it or just put up with it for now. (Personally I hide it anyway but as ever, such things are completely subjective ;).)

The firmware is the latest, I indicated in my message above. Connected to the TV with a standard HDMI cable from the device kit in the box. The resolution is the maximum possible in the 1080i 60Hz settings. I tried all other permissions - the problem is not fixed. For a better understanding of what we are talking about, I attach 2 more screenshots

I suggest a Factory Reset.
Yes, apparently I will have to reset to factory settings.
I would like to know if the firmware image is supposed to be released for installation via Flashtool via PC instead of FOTA ?

Cleared the entire system cache. Not help. It only remains to try factory reset :( But I don't want to do it ...
When I make factory reset, I will write about the results. But probably not today, I'm tired of fighting with U22 today...

Reset to factory settings. The problem is fixed, the icons on the bottom toolbar are evenly distributed, and there are no more overlays. I did not know what the problem was. But what a miserable Launcher 3 looks like ... I still replace it with something more aesthetic and functional

Installed ADW Launcher 2. As you can see, he had absolutely nothing to do with the previous problems. Now you just need to fine-tune the launcher and everything will be fine.

Well done, progress at least ;).

Obviously we all have our preferences but I can confirm Nova Launcher is at least working flawlessly :). Fingers crossed your ADW will now work fine too.

Something may have simply become corrupted at some point during your system configuration or app installation, it happens from time to time.

Hopefully you can close out your bug report after a fresh install of everything you need but keep us updated :).

OK. Necessarily. When I finish installing all my apps and configuring them, I will report back.
By the way, after factory reset, the firmware immediately became version V002_20200330 and the core version 4.9.113_20200330. A forced update was not required

Glad to see you solved it. Doesn't seem to be a problem with the box. I installed ADW to test and I also didn't see the strange bar effect, yet I noticed that, although it was working well, it didn't show up in the list of the selectable launchers, as Nova or Metro or L3 do. Unless it is showing in your selectable list there might be something not totally well with it in the U22 environment.

That is correct!

A Factory Reset deletes all user apps and data. It can not revert back a Firmware version without flashing the device.

Except the placing of icons on the Desktop!

Or do you not have that issue?

Good plan moving to a separate thread :).

Nope, Nova icon placement is all normal & identical to my U9-H thankfully.

I was even able to use my Nova backup file from the U9-H, paste it over to the U22 & load it straight up to save all the reconfiguration of how I have all the settings etc. :).

Thankfully that's gone very well lol ;)!!!
