FW008 Update

I just found this on FOTA. I check back regularly and do not recall seeing this a few days ago. But, then again, I have been known to have the occasional senior moment.

Any comments by the mods if and before downloading?

As usual we have not been informed so have no idea what this update brings, proceed with caution I would say.
 
Seems like the same things mentioned when they previously released FW008, they have probably fixed the BOD (blackscreen of death :LOL::ROFLMAO:)

Maybe @AboxF can advise if the wallpaper scaling issue is truely fixed.

Thks. I have never understood the wallpaper scaling issue. Every one I have tried worked OK for me.

But, have reverted to Sony phase beam for my needs.

And....really annoying that it wasn't run by the mods first and then officially posted on the forum. Despite all their promises...here we are back where we were at the start.???

I Can not test ,the u22xj work since months with coreelec on internal,i dont use Android because it not work with touchscreen ☹️....but i can explain the problem so anybody else can test the wallpaper bug ..

This wallpaper is on my u9h ,i Can see the complet picture as wallpaper ...

With minix u22xj fw06 (and all others Fw before)
I select the picture ,the picture is full size on the screen ,then i clic use as wallpaper and the picture is completly zoom ...
Here a picture before i clic use as wallpaper ,the picture is "full size"

I have tried a lot of différent wallpaper and wallpaper size but at final its always the same : when you clic use as wallpaper the picture is completly zoom on the screen ..(also tested with Fw 07 /Same problem)

Here a picture after clic use as wallpaper ,the picture is completly zoom on the screen..

Mention : i have test this without instal aditional wallpaper app /normaly not need to use aditional wallpaper app because the fonction use picture as wallpaper is in the official firmware..so it have to work without instal aditional wallpaper app

So for test : take a picture ,clic use as wallpaper and check if its full size or just "the half"/zoom on the screen ..
Question : is Fw 008 official out or are users now beta testers ??
A official bugtracker for fw08 plz ,like for all Fw in the past ..

Pmsl :LOL::ROFLMAO: The TV and chairs is the wallpaper, the left picture is the wallpaper how it should be, the right picture is the wallpaper zoomed by the bug in the U22.

Hmmm, this could be a problem, FW007 was never really officially released, you might have to do a manual flash of FW006a before you see the FOTA update to FW008, lets see what Minix say.

Yes, I did think about FW007 being a problem, but surely FOTA checks if latest version > current version?

Will you guys post the firmware for USB burning tool? It doesn't seem to be available on the Minix website.
