Google Earth: how can I zoom the map ?

The Google Earth App does not have buttons on the screen to control +/- to zoom in or out. I should point to two points on the screen at the same time to zoom but I use a A3 remote control. I can move/shift the map but I can't zoom in on it. Thank you.

Have you tried simply turning the a3 over & using the keyboard + or - keys ;)? (Unconfirmed with a U22!!)

Otherwise, I could zoom in just by double clicking in earlier versions of Google Earth or FlightRadar24 but later on I had to double click, hold & drag up using the same method as @CybeRider explains, & do the opposite to zoom back out.

It is quite tricky to get the hang of consistently. I frequently had to exit the app & re-enter to return to the default zoom level which was somewhat tedious.

Skynet thank you for the suggestion. Great ! Zoom works by pressing the center button twice. In reality it is not very convenient because the operation depends on the speed of pressing the Droid button. However, it is better than not being able to zoom.

So, let's say you found a city in the map, when you double click over the map pressing the Droid button it will zoom in each time you double click it. To zoom out you will need to double click but leave the second click pressed down and simultaneously slide the arrow up, and as it zooms out release the button.

ArticWolf thanks to you too for your suggestions. If I use the A3 remote control with U22-XJ unit the keyboard + or - keys do not work.

I will try to buy the logitech k400 keyboard which has the Touchpad. Anyone know if it can work for zoom?

Thanks you.

To zoom out when I am somewhere in Google Earth away from my home location (that Google knows), having placed the A3 pointer on the 'home' button above the Streetview button, I press the A3 central button with an Android symbol on it once and wait a second or two, and then when it zooms out and I have reached the right height above the map, with the pointer somewhere with no place names or symbols on the map, I click the central button twice to stop it zooming out.

When I replaced my router last year, it took a week or so for Google to relearn my location, but I just clicked on somehere hundreds of miles away on my list of Google Earth previous searches/more recent searches to zoom out until Google relearnt my location, as I do if I wish to zoom out when the map is centered on my home location.

PS. Have just read and mastered CybeRider's method, much better than mine, many thanks CybeRider.

One other thing that works well is the wheel of a common mouse. Please let us know should you find about the keyboard you get.

Unfortunately for me the zoom does not work if I use the wheel of a mouse. I have standard 006A firmware. I tried with two mouse (Logitech M220 and a bluetooth AmazonBasic mouse with dongle) could be a practical and simple. Is there a way to change the use of the buttons on the remote control? I can program a little in C / C ++, Java etc

With airmouse I double click and hold the Enter button in the centre of the D-Pad then swipe up to zoom out and swipe down to zoom in.
This is also the case for the Logitech K400, double click and hold the yellow Left-click button then swipe up or down on the touch-pad.
More awkward with the keyboard as it is a two handed job!

Of course as already mention just a double click will zoom in!

I disagree! :p

It works :) Thanks you all. Thanks Villa, with your exact explanation I did it !!! However, double clicking has a critical time, at least for me, and I often miss the necessary times. Maybe the habit will help.
