HBO Portugal app not working

I assume you got "Finless MINIX X8-H Plus Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) ROM 1.0" on there right now. Problem is that it's "rooted" !
A lot of DRM apps will not work with a rooted item. You need to unroot it with the included SuperSU.
Maybe you can ask a MOD here with help on that as I am not sure if I can post a link in the forum.
You dont need to go back to KitKat 4.4 .2 !

Hello, thanks for your reply.
Yes,
I first installed "Finless MINIX X8-H Plus Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) ROM 1.0", but then I found 2 more OS:
"X8-H_Plus-Android_5.1-20170612-Burning_Tool.img" and "X8H_PLUS_LOLLIPOP_RC2.img".
I have tried both and now I have "X8H_PLUS_LOLLIPOP_RC2.img", because I assumed that it was the original one.

The build of this one is: "n200-userdebug 5.1.1 LMY47V 20170703 release-keys". Rotting and Unrooting is not something that I am familiarized.

So, is this a rooted version? How can I know?

Is there any way to installed a original version of 5.1.1 Lollipop that is not rooted?

Thanks in advance and best regards,

X8H_PLUS_LOLLIPOP_RC2 should not be rooted as it's official Minix firmware. Would think that your HBO and Netflix should work on it.
Maybe you have to clear your "CACHE PARTITION " Uninstall your HBO and Netflix apps. Next Shut down the box, get a toothpick or paperclip and hold the reset and power button till you get a screen, release both, you should get a Menu. in that Menu select WIPE CACHE PARTITION and then choose Reboot system now. Let it start up and sit for a minute or so to build up caches! Now install the HBO and Netflix apps again and see if they work. Netflix can be a bugger what I read so you might ask for a working version for that here.

Thanks for your help, but it didn't work...

I am really running out of options.

More ideas Anyone?

Thanks,

Hello Again,
Thanks so far for all the help.

So, just more information regarding HBO Portugal APP.

I have unistalled and tried to install using the APK. When doing so, Aptoide showed a message saying: "Your device seems to be rooted. Confirm HBO Portugal app install after download?" I said Yes and HBO was installed.

Then I have tried to start it up and still message than before: "No Internet Connection" when connected using ethernet.
This time I have tried again with Wi-Fi and the message that shows up is different: "Your device was been modified. This app is not compatible with modified devices because of unpredictable behaviour".

So, it seems that the version X8H_PLUS_LOLLIPOP_RC2 that I have installed is rooted. I have downloaded from this thread
https://theminixforum.com/index.php?threads/neo-x8-h-plus-android-lollipop-os-firmware-20170612.45/

The build info seems odd to me: "n200-userdebug 5.1.1 LMY47V 20170703 release-keys".
Rooting and Unrooting is not something that I am familiarized.

So, is this a rooted version?
How can I know for sure?
Where can I find a not rooted version?
Or this messages are just because I have installed a new OS on a device that originally had 4.4.2 Kitkat?

It seems that I am so close to finished, but a small step is missing.

Best regards and thanks in advance,

Hello,

I´m having the same problem with the HBO app,
I think i´ve managed to unroot the device with the Supersu app included, but i continue receiving the same message from the HBO app, "no internet connection".

Did you managed to get the app working?

Thank you

Regards

I´ve managed to get it working!!!

I´ve removed the root in the Supersu app, enabled the "Fake Wifi" option in the ethernet options and it is now working.

Regards
