HBOMax no sound

Hi, few days ago they turned on Hbomax in my country.
HBOgo worked fine, installed new app (hbomax) without any problems and it's working fine - except there is no sound at all (all other apps are working with sound)

I have latest update, checked if my sound is not muted, reinstalled app after update that i've made today.
Minix connected via hdmi only.

Any ideas, help ?


Edit: I've tested some audio settings and it works.
Admin Edit: And now it doesn't! :mad:

Audio output > digital audio format (manual) checked only Dolby Digital and AAC and it works now - if anyone having same issue as me.

Unfortunately yesterday everything was good. Minix goes sleep mode for night, and today i have this same problem - no sound.
Options that i've changed yesterday stayed this same so nothing change to preverious, i don't have a clue what i can do more.
I've force stopped app, cleaned all files from application, restarted Minix - still no sound.

Unfortunately, I have not received any response from you about tests on your side.

I've tried play around with settings to restore the sound as before but nothing came of it.
I have installed the application about 20 times, cleaned the data, etc., etc., but sound was not there.

There are tons of comments under the hbo app that people don't have sound either.

I meant MINIX staff as @MINIX - Eric said he'd get back soon!

You may not be aware but only the guys with MINIX before their name are MINIX staff. The rest of us are volunteers and pretty much regular members like yourself!

I was hoping that you would at least test for yourself if you also have the same sound problems as for ordinary users to rule out that this is not a problem on the minix side, but with the hbo application.

I don't use the app or have a subscription!

I'm new here. I have recently bought a MINIX U22-XJ MAX.

Build number 20211023-V001

I have installed HBO MAX app as I have subscription. The video runs fine, but the problem is there is no sound on the TV.

Everything else is working fine, also sound in other apps like KODI, Youtube, system sounds...

I have tryed settings like they were mentioned in the MINIX U22-XJ forum (Audio output > digital audio format (manual) checked only Dolby Digital and AAC) and also any other combination possible in the system settings and also in the minix settings under sound, also disabling/enabling bluetooth as i sometimes use bluetooth headphones, but no luck. I have also tryed wired headphones also no luck.

I like to note that the TV is an older LG LCD TV (no smart TV) with stereo sound if that could be an issue.
I also don't use any external sound reciever, just a regular sound over HDMI.

Does anyone else have a similar problem, or if someone has successefully solved it, I would be very gratefull if they share the sollution.

There doesn't appear to be a simple a solution!
MINIX are supposed to be looking in to it, but I wouldn't hold your breath!

I realised there is some free content so I tried @n0xx's solution.

It eventually worked. :)
But now it doesn't! :(

I'm off to bed now, but will try again.

Well thank you for trying.
Do you maybe know if U22-XJ and U22-XJ MAX are different only in internal memory storage 32 vs 64GB?
I was fiddling in settings and I have noticed there are two sound settings.
One is in Settings - Device preferences - Sound and one are under Settings - MINIX settings - Audio output.

Are the Minix settings for Optical SPDIF output, or are the same as in device preferences?
