I bought a new 4K TV (Samsung Q70R) that supports HDR, but I can't seem to get HDR working on my U9 (running CE FW001 Android 7.1.2).
If I plug my HDD directly into the TV's USB port, I can watch the video files in HDR without any issues. But when I connect the HDD to my U9, it doesn't appear to recognize the signal as HDR, it just plays the videos in SDR.
I checked the U9 display settings, but I think they are correct: 'HDR to SDR' is set to 'Auto' (setting it to 'On' doesn't make a difference) and 'SDR to HDR' is set to 'Off'.
I can't seem to find any settings in Kodi in regards to HDR, unless I'm missing something?
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Or is it better to just connect my HDD directly to the TV's USB and watch my videos this way? (so not use the U9 for local video playback).
Because the TV seems to play the 4K HDR videos just fine and it supports all the video formats I need. What would you recommend?
Thanks for your time!
