HDR not working

When I got my new box I was not sure if HDR was working. But I finally heard from TVL support on how to tell if the TV is detecting HDR.
Here is what they said:
"When displaying content with High Dynamic Range, or HDR, a compatible Roku TV switches into a special HDR mode to achieve the expanded range of contrast and color that creates a more immersive picture. To watch movies, videos, or TV shows in this special HDR mode, the title must be available in one of two HDR formats – HDR10 or Dolby Vision. When content is in the HDR10 format, all Roku TVs capable of displaying HDR content will switch into the special HDR mode.
When you watch HDR10 or Dolby Vision content, your Roku TV detects the correct format and displays an HDR or Dolby Vision logo in the upper right corner of the screen"

So far nothing that I have watched caused the HDR logo to display on my TV.
I have the HDR setting, under display I think, set to adaptive HDR

Any help is much appreciated

are you sure the content you are playing is in HDR ?
Make sure your setting is set to adaptive HDR and that Dolby Vision is disabled

No need to create a new thread when you have previously mentioned this several times elsewhere and youve been told how to troubleshoot.

Sorry for the confusion. I thought it would be easier to follow if I made a post specific to this issue.

I checked the settings and the box is set to Adaptive HDR and Dolby Vision is disabled.

If anything it's more confusing not less so as now you've split additional responses into multiple threads that others may not have read. Invariably those trying to help you may also ask you the same questions twice or more too because they may not have seen your double posts.

Are you sure the HDMI input you're using on your TV for the U22 actually supports HDR?

Many TV's with 3 or 4 HDMI inputs often have full functionality for HDMI 1 & 2 but 3 and/or 4 (as applicable) typically don't have the same capabilities.

Ergo, if you're not already doing so, test/troubleshoot your U22 using the primary or secondary HDMI input(s) & then see if adaptive HDR will work through them.

Failing that, have you tried using an app that can extract the relevant metadata from the source files you're using to verify that they are in fact encoded in HDR?

Is HDMI Ultra HD Deep Colour turned on in tv settings for the hdmi port the U22 is connected to? That's what the setting is called on my LG tv, might be called something slightly different on other manufactures but if that setting isn't on (it's off by default) then HDR won't work via connected hdmi devices.

I don't see any setting like that on my TCL TV. The only setting is HDMI mode and that was set to auto.
I changed it to HDMI 2.0 since it says that will be the highest resolution

I also found a setting on the TV called "HDR notification" and that is ON.
The description says that it will notify when HDR content is present

what is the model number of your TCL TV ?

I heard from TCL support and they said to perform these steps to check for HDR.
a. While on the input press the asterisk (*) button on the remote
b. Go to Picture mode
c. Check for the HDR option

I did this on various videos and the HDR option never appears

If you go into Settings, TV Inputs and whichever input you have the U22 plugged into make sure it is set to HDMI 2.0 (the default is Auto)

Hey. That worked! I only tried one video but I did see the HDR indicator as TCL support mentioned
I will try a few other videos and see what happens
