Help, I have a download issue!

I started with 28.8k then 33.6k.
I recall borrowing these modems from my brother-in-law on the weekend. He borrowed them from his place of work!

Then I spent what seemed like a fortune on a US Robotics 56k.

I started i think with 56k modem, i am almost 100% sure.
My first " pc" was zx spectrum 48k and that i am sure ☺
How things evolve and i am feeling older but older means knowledge ☺

My zx spectrum ☺

My first one was such work of art:

512k RAM.
CPU: NEC V40 (80188-compatible).
Two floppy drives. No HD!
XT-style keyboard (82 keys).
Integrated CGA-compatible video. Allegedly can output to TV or monitor. (You would never find a cable to perform the task)
SPEED 4.77 / 8 MHz
GRAPHIC MODES CGA graphic modes : 320 x 200 / 640 x 200, black and white only! (great improvement as normal was green over black those days)
I/O PORTS Centronics, RGB monitor and TV, RS232, Mouse, Audio, Floppy disk, Expansion connector
BUILT IN MEDIA 2 x 3.5'' 720 KB FDD
OS MS DOS

Olivetti Prodest PC1 - 1988

I remember I later got a 56k modem, as Netscape browser was invented, because of that I had to get a computer that would allow to assemble it internally, that new one had a 20MB HD, it was in 1995, can't remember why I would need a modem those days...

I remembered! I needed a modem because it was a FAX-Modem, and that would turn the computer into a fax machine, so I could start to get rid of the Telex machine! :ROFLMAO:

LMFAO.

My first comp was an Acorn Atom. My father & I had to manufacture the aluminium casing & heatsink for the PSU ourselves lol :).

Soon after had a BBC/BBC Master. Then an Amiga 500+ after those. Then 386 rigs & onwards.

My first modems were 28K/56K too. Obviously that was long before the days of subscriber based 0800 dial up ISP's, my monthly phone bills used to arrive in a bloody box ;)!!!!!!!
